Tom, this is so amazing to have pulled off. I've already paid for two, and this is the most anticipated car-event of the year for me.

I may go as far as spending the night there on Saturday just as the added bonus of a weekender for wifey and me,
There is a special room rate for attendees, btw if you don't know this already, this place is 180 degrees from a Motel 6.
I've stayed here before, this place is culturally PacNorthWest.

Yea, this will be fun. I hope more Ferrari guys participate as this is about cars more than brands and it's rare to get this kind of access. I'd love to see all brands well represented except for maybe Yugo.

Hey! No dissin' Yugo ... at least it was better than a Lada ... and Yugo's had a rear-window defroster specifically to keep your hands warm whilst you were pushing it!! ;-)

I'm amped as well--both for the chance to meet Manfred and Winkelmann, as well as for the food at the Salish. It's one of my FAVORITE places to eat!

I"m concerned that if I did pull up my Yugo, the Valet's would take the keys, open the Salish Doors for me, then push the Yugo off the edge of the cliff.

I apologize in advance, but I can't help myself. Bestest Yugo jokes to follow ...

    Q. How do you double the value of a Yugo?
    A. Fill the tank with gas! (If it can still hold liquid.)
    A. If not, put a gallon of milk in the back seat.

What do Yugos have in common with Ferarris?
    - A Ferarri can go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds.
    - A Yugo can go from 0 to 4 in 60 seconds.

    Q. How do you fix a broken Yugo?
    A. 1) Lift off the radiator cap.
    2) Push off cliff.
    3) and drive brand-new one underneath radiator cap.
    (30-mile/3-day warranty included!)

I once bought a Yugo with a tow package.
    ...It was in the front.

    Q. What do you call a Yugo at the top of a big hill?
    A. A miracle!

Yugos are now much safer and come standard with an air bag.
When you sense an impending accident, start blowing *real fast*

How do you make a Yugo go faster?
    A towtruck.

What do you call the shock absorbers inside a Yugo?
    Passengers.

Two guys in a Yugo were arrested last night in Oakland following
    a push-by shooting incident.

A friend went to a dealer the other day and said, "I'd like a gas
cap for my Yugo." The dealer replied, "Okay. Sounds like a fair
    trade."

How can you get a Yugo to do 60 miles an hour?
    Push it over a cliff.

Why don't Yugo's sustain much damage in a front-end collision?
The tow truck takes the impact.

What do you call a Yugo with a flat tire?
    Totalled.

What is the difference between a Yugo and AIDS?
You can still palm AIDS off to someone else.

What do you call the Yugo owner's manual?
    The bus timetable.

What is the smallest part of a Yugo?
    The owners brain.

What do you call someone who buys a secondhand Yugo?
    A scrap dealer.

What does a Yugo buyer do to look sophisticated?
    Wears dark glasses.

How do you tell the Yugo buyer from all the other people with dark glasses?
They're the ones with the white sticks.

Why do they give away free TVs with Yugos?
So you've got something to do while waiting for the mechanic to come
    and fix it.

What is the difference between a Yugo and a golf ball?
You can drive a golf ball 360 yards.

What do you call a Yugo with twin exhausts?
    A wheelbarrow.

I see they have a whopping 1,200 members in the last ten years. That worked out to ten joining a month! They have just enough to hold a conversation about the last time they saw one running. Now watch, we'll get some guy who's pissed off that we're dissing Yugos who will protest E@RTC by not showing up but none of us will know if showing up was remotely possible in the first place.

What do you do if it rolls over? Do you just bury it with the wheels sticking out?

...these pictures are really killing my interest in a lot of cars (I can't say I took interest in any Yugo though)

Vic and I just met with RTC. We're going to park cars in the center of RTC on the 30th for the Lamborghini event. We think we've got enough spaces for almost all cars and we will have the lot next to Borders as the overflow lot. For those who have not yet signed up, please don't wait. E-mail [email protected] for the Evite!

Funnily enough, I watched "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist" last night -- cute little movie, and Nick's Yugo features prominently in the movie (and, quelle surprise, does nothing to bolster the Yugo to "classic car" status).

If you want to see LOTS of Yugos, see the movie Drowning Mona. With Bette Midler and Danny DeVito. It's twisted, sick, and very funny.

Don't forget to tell your friends to sign up for the 30th! We want the F cars well represented!

    Hi Everyone,
The event with Lamborghini management is going to be moved to an earlier time slot and become a breakfast event at Salish Lodge rather than lunch. This is to accommodate a very complicated travel schedule for management. For those of you who have not yet signed up, please PM me your e-mail address for an Evite with sign up instructions.

I'd like to thank Lamborghini Bellevue for helping me with logistical issues in this event. It's nice to have such a supportive dealer. We will have three cars at the event, the LP670-SV, the new LP560-4 Spyder and the LP650 Roadster. All three are the first time in the Northwest and only 50 of the LP650s will be built so it is especially rare!

The plan is to still meet at RTC and we will have a police escort lead us all to Salish Lodge. I'd love to see more Ferrari owners/enthusiasts attend as this event is for everyone who has an interest in exotics of all kinds. Exact times will be posted soon. We're still working on the timeline for the morning but we anticipate that breakfast will be around 9:00 AM.

    Tom

...I won't be driving the LS amongst the escort, so if yet again I could bum a ride with someone, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

We will begin to match cars with riders this coming week. Lots of little details to work out between now and then. Stay tuned.
