It was an amazing event as always. I happened to on the balcony of the Penthouse that the hotel supplied the VIP participants with on Sunday and managed to take an interesting picture...Valentino Balboni coming out to take pictures of the event taking place below. In all his years surrounded by Lamborghinis, his reaction was priceless as he looked down and uttered, "Mama mia..." Such an amazingly humble and genuine man and always a pleasure to talk to.

As soon as I upload all my photos to my computer, I'll post more.

It was an amazing event. I recently acquired a 1975 Lamborghini Urraco P250, and Balboni and I had a wonderful conversation about the car.

And, to top it all off, the Urraco won Best of Show!

I feel that same feeling, as Mr. Balboni.

There was a time when Lambo pulled out of US, and ownership of the marque, was lonely indeed.

I think of my (deceased) friend JRV, laboring away to keep a Countach running, without Factory support, and he would have indeed been impressed, with the number of modern machines, sold since that time!!

    Congrats, Micheal!

    We saw that car!
Valeria picked the GT350, as her fave....

Ed Perwien's 1972 Espada, to your right there, recently restored.....

He had owned it since new, dumped on the Docks of Houston, (with five others!) when the cosigned dealer out in California went bankrupt during shipment.

I had a great time and spoke with Valentini as he was walking around (fortunately I got there early). He was getting annoyed with the guys in their Gallardos revving their engines to red line unnecessarily (understandably so). However he enjoyed checking out my Diablo and we chatted about that by-gone era at the factory. Lots of people in attendance this year...wow! Lots of people watching, and hot cars, a great day.
