Hi everyone, I'm just wondering what there are in the way of classic Lamborghinis in Dubai. I'm passing through on my way back to New Zealand and am interested in possibly visiting any Lamborghini owners of older cars, ie 1980s or earlier. I was also wondering what chance there is of my being able to visit the dealership in Dubai, which I believe is Al Jaziri Motors? I always like to visit the dealers wherever I visit if I can, but I prefer to know what to expect beforehand if possible. Any help that anyone can give will be very gratefully received. Regards, Paul
Hey Paul When and where are you arriving in NZ ?? Hope you did not lose too much in Chch and everything is OK there with your families. Let me know and we can meet up . Accom avail if required for you and Frances. Cheers Dick Sorry - cant help with Dubai !!!
Paul: I was there about 5-6 years ago. I had hoped they had a bunch of cauntach parts laying around and no longer needed! No so. The Arabs are mostly into expensive new cars, with less interest in older models. The dealership had a small lobby that held maybe 5-6 cars -- nothing fancy. In the rear was a larger area for repairs, etc.. They had virtually no parts -- they said they had all parts shipped in from Italy by overnight air. A new Merciealago in multiple irradencent colors was being picked up by 2 Arabs so I did not get to talk with the rep much. The reps were nice and spoke decent English, but busy while I was there. If you have the time, you should go for a look, but set your expectations a bit low. Of course, changes might have been made since I was last there. David
A foreign national in Dubai, owns a 1981 LP400S2. It is a true time-capsule car. He also has a late model Countach.
Hi all, Many thanks for the info so far. Any sort of 'inside' info is helpful as it is always worth knowing what's out there. Do you have any way of contacting the ex-pat with the LP400S2 ralfabco? Cheers, Paul
