    Impossible!
    I would know! :)

If he dares to buy a 12 cylinder Ferrari without me knowing it I will personally pay him an unpleasant visit.

    Hi Wolfgang,

are you going to buy a '99 Diablo??? That would be fantastic! I am always looking at Diablo prices in Switzerland, but

    1) I'd never buy an early Diablo - you've got to have your own workshop to afford the maintenance, and it's too unreliable.
    2) I love the SV, but they cost a fortune if they are genuine (lots of fakes around)
    3) I love the late model Diablo 6.0 by Audi, which I rode in back in 2001 in California, and it's a monster. Excellent build quality, VERY fast, handles much better than any previous Diablo, fabulous brakes with ABS (at last). But................ :( 6.0 litre Diablos cost more than used Murcielagos!!!!! It's unbelievable, but here in CH you can't find one for less than 220.000 Sfr., and for that money you can get an early Murci with 30-40.000 Kms and factory warranty.

Which means I'll wait until I have money for a Murci... :)

Lambo has changed to much in my opinion . The Gallardo is soo boring to look at , the interior is like a A3 and the noise is very common.
    I love Lambos until the 6.0 ..

From what i know the 550/575 are much better cars than a Vanquish . And probably more of a drivers' car than either a DB9 or a Vanquish.
Every test i have read ranked the F above the Vanquish .Even the S .
I havent driven a Vanquish yet but i dont see how it could be better than a Maranello ( less hp , more kgs, and the Gb is years behind the manual or F1 gb from Ferrari )

Ferrari isnt the est in all segment but its still the driver's choice in all segment.

Well, the DB9 is said to statistically be the better car compared to the 575 all because its cheaper and better looking... The Vanquish S, i agree isn't better, but by more desired i mean that buyers of that vanquishS would most likely be the ones who want to stand out, because everyone would be buying the 575, let alone, that 575/550 design is about 7yrs old? They'd want something different... And that would be teh only basis of getting the vanquishS. Otherwise, you are correct, that the Fcars are better, overall and most definatly more of the driver's cars, than the AMs.

The gearbox in the Vanquish is total crap, even in the S.... They claim the DB9's box is better, because its attached to an automatic, rather than a manual, as the Vanquish is. Altogether, F1, Tip, SMG....its all bad, in my view.

    @Andrea,
    about the Diablo SV market:
There are several on sale in CH:
    http://www.autoscout24.ch/
Prices are realy a bit strange.
There is another one black, 1999 on sale in Germany.
IMO its NOT a real factory SV (likwise you mentioned in your post - fakes are going around)!
Have a closer look to the rims and the seats.
    http://www.autoscout24.de/home/index/detail.asp?ts=5559931&id=pk1gbxlzpi4
Anyway, its a beautiful late 1999 Diablo and the price seems to be o.k.

    Best
    Wolfgang

P.S. the holy grail, to die for dream car is still for sale:
Diablo GT, yellow, #9/80 on autoscout.ch

    Simon,

Any idea how painful it is to import a car to the UK from Switzerland? Debs has given me permission to look at 360's :D

    Hi Mark
Switzerland is unfortunalety the worst country in main land europe for export as its not in the EU. You will be landed with 17.5% VAT on entry to the UK which won't be due if you source the car within an EU country and the tax has been paid in that country. Unless the price in CH is VERY good then look else where. Germany is probabaly your best bet simply because its such a large Ferrari market(3rd or 4th in the world I think)

    Moving up to a 360 Mark? ;)

In Holland most "Car import companies" get their cars from CH.
I asked a few why that is because I know of the "tax" problems.
They both said because of the cars from CH are always in very good condition. Cars from CH are always very well maintained and documentated.
Italy is the worse country to get cars from. Germany is also not popular.
