I have been asked by one of my very good customers to privately sell his Lambo Miura SV. This is a cosmetically restored car in original colors, USA version, factory split sump, Factory a/c, books, tools, turnkey, ready to go. If any one is interested, please call me directly for more information. Publically, I am not at liberty to disclose price, pictures or chassis number.

And publically we are not a liberty to discuss any interest in a car that has zero information given.

I have to admit. This has to be the dumbest for sale ad in the history of selling cars.

How so? He is merely notifying the members that a Miura SV is available. If someone is looking for one, all it takes is emailing Gary and the relevant information will be shared.

Sure... For most any other car it would be but I'm sure just mentioning a Miura SV is for sale will generate enough interest to sell it. Anyone serious about buying a car like this won't have an issue sending an email for info.

Then anyone can copy/paste the information received. Why all the secrecy?

It is not a GTO after all.

I fully respect the owner's wishes though, and applaud Gary for playing along....

    Regards, Alberto

Nothing would make me happier than to share photo's and history, as I did the cosmetic restoration on the car, and would love to "showcase' my work. But, I have loyalty to my client, as he has asked me to sell the car with my hands "tied behind my back', so, yes, this is awkward, because I can't market the car publicly. Pleas..... don't shoot the messenger!
E Mail me, as others have, I'll be happy to provide the info, as long as you keep it to your selves. Some times, things are meant NOT to be shared.

Actually you cant. The email is for the receiver's eyes only and while a lot of people do copy and paste, if the sender wanted to take action he would have legal basis for it.

It's not a GTO but it's not a Gallardo either. While i agree fully exposing the car is the best way to go, and the most fun for wannabee buyers like me, some owners have their reasons to want to keep it quiet.

    Cheers

Andrew, new aspect of legalese. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

Cant agree more, why not post this on some site that does not cater to gear heads. Perhaps a watch forum or something like that. Just makes no sense.

    Privacy is a legitimate issue.
Only that the testosterone on this web site is a bit out of control..

Obviously the ones barking are not the buyers, yet nameless faces behind the wheel.

I respect an owner not wanting to be known who what or where...
Just the world we live in does'nt..

Interesting how the down turn in prices most likely has not affected the Miura...
almost like a " Made " mafia man , the Miura sv as so many other special cars is now in the " Made " group

Just gonna have to leave the price to ones imagination,,

would I be far off in saying an SV is btwn 1.5 and 2 million now??

Lets start a list of " Made cars "
    288 GTO, 250 GTO..275 GTB...365 GTS...P4...DB 5,6 7...D type,..C Type..

:D I see what you did there, and I like it.

I have zero problem with the ad. It's the owner's car to do with as he pleases. It sounds like it has been treated well and is a nice example. It is being represented by a well respected player in the exotic car world. That should be more than enough info to incite a serious buyer to inquire. I'd love to see pics because I love the cars, but I respect the owner's desire not to broadcast the offering everywhere. He presumably has his reasons.

Best of luck with the sale, Gary.

As if someone is going to make an impulse decision to buy a Miura SV when they had not considered it before because they like the pic.

If someone is seriously looking for one they will write the email...

    Privacy is a real issue.

Best of luck with the sale--hopefully those expressing interest will have as much respect for your time as they hope others would for theirs.

Because this is how high end cars are traded...

People aren't thrilled about letting others know what they have publically... People aren't thrilled about telling people they are selling something...

its just different. There are a million reasons to do it this way... and thats why it is done this way on these bigger cars...

Also if you just do the photos and blast it out everywhere... it loses its specialness to some. People buying a car like that want and sometimes need to feel special... or that its a special offering...

Then you have brokers who just whore the **** out of the car and no one even wants to talk about it by the time you get to the real buyer because the broker has added 500k to the price and couldn't tell the prospective buyer a single thing about the car... so then that buyer just crosses that car off the list... even when they are reintroduced to the car... and properly... they will not give it the time of day.

This part of the market is fickle... and you have to be precarious about everything. Yes... sometimes its a bit ridiculous but... the traditional method of selling a car just doesn't work on these kinds of cars

I'd be curious to know just an estimate price for these things since they've sky rocketed. One of my favorite cars but nowadays they're unobtanium...

If this was a higher production car I would say yeah the ad doesn't help the sale but this is a rare car where the demand is much higher than supply so you don't need to be that open as it will sell. Plus if the owner wants to be private, that's his business. I'll bet he's gotten plenty of PMs from interested parties.
