Mark's car is hot.. would love to see and hear in person one day. My fave Lambo model thus far. I drove a Gallardo around Eastern Creek and great place to stretch the legs of such machines!
I was behind a 997 turbo and a Cayman coming back from the city this morning. They gave the cars a good kick up the pants but i couldn't hear their engines above my own
I had one for few hours back when I signed one up until I found out that it needed a few radiators and shocks... or around $50k in work!!!!! Anyway, it was a manual '03. I was cmopletely surprised at how easy it was to drive, it had a Tubi I think so the sound was amazing. The whole experience was really special. I've driven several Gallardos and many other cars (never driven a Lambo or Ferrari on a track, so can't comment on the car at the limit) and the Murci was the best OVERALL experience I've had. The other car that really blew me away was the R8 (V8) and for sub $180k I think it's a great car. But with early Murci's dropping to mid 200s, it can be a good buy (with a $30k budget to make it "perfect" I guess?)
Not a Murcielago though. From my knowledge that is the second VI Gallardo here, the other one is apparently owned by that Edelstein (sp) bloke in Melbourne. It is a spyder and has body coloured wheels on it. Looks terrible in my opinion. So intrigued to see the green Murcie
Very. Here are photos of a Melbourne collection which I suspect are his. Gotta love the green wheels. http://aussieexotics.com/forum/cars/anyone-know-of-these-t2252.0.html
I've done about 19,000km in my car since I bought it in Feb 08. (was 7,000km - now 26,000km). The car has been completely reliable - unlike my Gallardos which were always in the shop for one thing or another. The Murci is an event every time you drive it. Sometimes this can be wearing - there are always cars following you. But most of the time it is just fun. It is easy enough to drive but needs care in tight spaces and steep driveways. The e-gear is smooth around town but compared to the new DSG style boxes, feels pretty old fashioned. The exhaust and induction noise mean the radio is never on. I drove a 300 km loop on Monday with the windows down the whole way - that's how good the noise is. When let off the leash, you need to hang on tight. It has very fast steering but stronglly self-centering so you don't dare take your hands off the wheel. The top end power is mind blowing until you get used to it - but I reckon the new 911 Turbo PDK is quicker (that's how fast the new Porsche is) although the Lambo sounds way better. The LP640's forte is fast, open country with no traffic - especially the kind with lights on the roof. Driven like this, it is completely intoxicating. You grab it by the scruff of the neck and it loves it. It's an old style supercar and the first one I've thought about keeping. I probably won't though because I'm always attracted to new stuff. What's it worth? I'm not sure. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No harm in breaking the trend Mark. I can still recall the sound of you returning to the Hotel in Chapel street after going shopping.
I have been a passenger in a Diablo on a test run........it was pretty impressive. And when the doors open, every babe in a two block radius looks to see.......lots of Murcis here in the states for sale as the owners trade up.....down...whatever!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for sharing mate!! Car sounds awesome. I was impressed with Scuddy's old Murcie. Looked and sounded amazing. He took me for a drive in it, it was raining so we didnt go too fast but you just know it was very quick. The LP640 would be just that little bit better! As would the LP670. I bet you're looking forward to the new LP700 or whatever the face-lift model will be. Or is it an ALL new model coming out?
