I don't think the dollar is going below par anytime soon. All the experts in the money markets are predicting the Canadian dollar to settle abit, but to stay about 3 cents above the US dollar for years. This is why I asked my question, if we're talking years we gotta see something happen with prices.
No doubt about it, leases and secondary units will be affected and there will be some pissed off owners out there... but sooner or later it's gotta happen.

Have you guys heard of the Amero? If that was to happen, what would that mean in the overall picture?

That Amero thing hasnt actually been proven yet. I"ve seen a few sites, but think about it. If Mexico gets into that... that'll change EVERYTHING for pricing in the country and take years to conform (it took a while after they revalued the currency too). Plus, the stock markets would have a big issue with that. What happens when the Fed raises the rates 1/4 point and the Bank of Canada lowers the rate? No more currency being adjusted because of investors or anything of the sort.

As for importing the vehicles... I never realized that RIV didnt have the Lambos on the list. F-Cars are there, but no Lambos. Weird. But anyways, if anybody IS importing just make sure it gets registered in the name of somebody (or a company) stateside first, then buy it from them (Warranty issues easily avoided this way, and no hassle with some of the N. American manufacturers... not sure about BMW and Benz and Ferrari's policies).

I have a company setup Stateside, and also dual citizenship so I just register my stuff there and if I need to drive it here a lot then just import it. No warranty being denied or "voided".

    Just my 2 cents :)
