My friend said his is delayed at least 5 months. He was expecting it between Thanksgiving and Christmas IIRC. Now late spring.
I received my VIN last week and my car should be completed now because my La Prima is scheduled for end of this month. I will post pictures of my experience.
My hypothesis is this: These are very complex cars, VW, in general, is not the best in making hybrids (or EVs for that matter), I suspect there will be many problems and many recalls and plenty of issues, and the recent "odd" controlled track driving tests by all the major media, without non-track driving (meaning each reviewer had a very short time with the car) and the slowed release to owners just seems like they are working through a lot of issues....
I've heard from my dealer that there are some issues they're addressing before the cars are shipped to customers. The head technician at my dealership attended training back in October, and he told me that the car is so complex that Lamborghini will have a 'flying doctor' on call to assist dealers with any issues. I've also heard that Lamborghini is experiencing issues with the Urus Hybrid and the Huracan replacement. What's interesting is that the dealer demos completed production last summer. They were supposed to arrive back in September as static display cars, strictly for viewing without test drives. Obviously, that never happened, so it's likely the demos will arrive around the same time as the pre-configured models start arriving. My guess is the issues they're experiencing are software related because cars are still getting completed.
That's great insight, thank you. As I understand, of the '13 drive modes' not a single is 'pure ICE' (all include some sort of hybrid interaction for forward motion, I believe reverse is electric motor only). That said, there could be other issues besides software such as probably with the battery pack or electric motors or even the high voltage harnesses, but, probably mostly related to software glitches that brick the car, etc, hence the need for a "highly mobile support team" (flying doctor) to rescue stranded owners. Not the best plan, I'll stay with Diablos...
Unfortunately, the factory canceled my La Prima booking and informed my dealer that Reuvleto La Prima deliveries won't happen until March. I'm starting to think that even the cars with VIN numbers have not completed production yet, which probably means there's some sort of technical issue the factory is trying to resolve.
Unfortunately VW/Audi group do not have a great history with any software once they moved to anything with HV involved.

My VIN # 00378. Received an update last week...my La Prima delivery is now scheduled for May 30th. North American customer cars are delayed due to software issues and will ship out in June/July. Dealer demos arrived a few weeks ago and needed software upgrades at the port, so they'll likely arrive at dealerships this month. It's frustrating, but at least Lamborghini has been proactive in addressing the issues before the cars are released to customers.
I was informed today that my La Prima delivery is confirmed for the end of May, which likely means NA cars will start arriving next month. I also received an updated LOOM screenshot from my dealer. It looks like Lamborghini has finally updated their backend. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just got back from Bologna after a quick 3-day trip. La Prima was amazing; I believe I was the first North American customer to receive a La Prima delivery. The other three were European customers. The team who joined me for the unveiling were from different departments at Lamborghini and made the whole unveiling enjoyable. And what about the car itself? Well, it looked absolutely stunning in person. They turned it on for me and gave it a few revs, and it still has the V12 sound. Now comes the wait for the car to be delivered, which should take around 6 weeks. If you get a chance to do La Prima, do it. It's worth delaying your delivery by a month or two because, according to the team, they're capping all La Prima deliveries to around 80 per year. They give you wall art and a rug and a bottle of champagne when you buy a Lamborghini? Sexy looking bull! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Lol, just the champagne. The wall art/rug was commissioned pieces from various Lamborghini dealers across the dealer network.
