This is the way of the future for sports cars, I think that we will absolutely see a huge trend towards reducing weight as a means for performance. Even though this is just a concept car, it shows Lamboghini's dedication towards weight reduction in the future, and from the spec of this car, it is an excellent direction for them to take.

If anything they need to put some weight loss into the murci. Isnt that around 4000lbs?

I'm sure the murci replacement will have some of the traits of their concept car, as its main intention is to show off their new tech. Whats amazing is that while Lamborghini is going light weight, with the two new lotus releases (elite and esprit) it appears that lotus is heading the opposite direction.

Absolutely agree. This improves performance, fuel economy and presumably handling all at once.

And, lighter cars are a blast to drive -- could bring some of the fun back.

I love it! I see ALOT of Countach in the lines of this car. As a big Lotus fan and current owner im glad to see Lamborghini may be filling this area of the market if Lotus is going the other direction.

What are the dimensions of this thing?
    It's a superleggera on a 750lb diet!
    Great concept however.

Long term, it's either lose the weight or every supercar will end up being a 1000+hp, 2+ton behemoth a la the veyron. Less mass is better.
