Hard to see anything obvious. I wonder what happened? Dove through too deep a puddle or the recent hurricane?
........................................................We had a flood here in LI about 2 months ago, about 8 feet over normal high tide , + this car is in LI . if this car was parked in a garage anywhere near the water it could have been under the water , If i didn`t jack up my car , it would have been under too .

http://www.copart.com/c2/individualLot.html?lotId=28221431 When I Googled the VIN I came across an ad by Roy when it had 20,500 miles: http://www.catsexotics.com/web/1317/vehicle/260912/2003-Lamborghini-Murcielago I wonder if Roy knows; such a shame... That used to be my car. It had a clean title when Roy had it advertised. It went to Florida and was a rental car. http://www.xoticdreamcars.com/
I imagine it hurts a bit to see it in bits. I hope the renter got the extra insurance. FWIW, they still have it as available: http://www.xoticdreamcars.com/exotic-luxury-cars/lamborghini-murcielago-blue/ Image Unavailable, Please Login

Looks like this car is now for sale on Ebay with a BIN for $69K: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Lamborghini-Murcielago-ELY-BLUE-RUNS-/350511775449?pt=Salvage_Parts_Cars&vxp=mtr&hash=item519c213ed9
Then it seems to be offered for sale by another seller for $55K BIN on Ebay???? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Lamborghini-Murcielago-One-time-only-Chance-Lifetime-Unheard-price-/200691666294?pt=Salvage_Parts_Cars&vxp=mtr&hash=item2eba27cd76
........................That was fast , this blue car is now listed again on Ebay by my friend in LA , seems like the seller in Florida did not have a title because its listed as Salvage certificate on the new auction . , I like the blue , it looks cool as hell , there is more damage then meets the eye , but it should not be that difficult a fix , , these cars with their small diameter square and rectangle tubes really cannot be pulled , but i guess it depends on the impact , but replacing the chassis tubes is the way to go .
I tried to follow the sale on Copart because I previously owned the car before it went to Florida. I saw it at $38,000 on Copart's auction. Don't know if it went for that or around that with fees. It is a very cool blue - "Blu Ely" and there were only 3 in the US for 2003. I saw the color on a few Diablos and saw one of the other 2003 Murci's in AZ around the time I purchased mine in 2008. From the pics, I do think there is a lot more damage than meets the eye. Maybe the LA seller will try and part it out. Motor, interior, a wheel or two and some other parts.
........................................................................... Wow small world ! , i see the Auction now in Baton Rouge is from the same seller i bought my car from, he states that the car needs up rights , spindles + more , So he is being more up front then the previous auction that was from the seller in Florida . Also the Florida auction stated clean title ? i do not think that was the case . Was that car a 6 speed or Auto ?
Salt water is a disaster on most cars. Think computers, automatic transmissions, abs, climate control, power windows, cruise etc. Fresh might not be as bad, but can be. It's a given that interiors will need to be completely removed & cleaned. Some Rebuilder slang for those wanting to get their feet wet (lol) : water puppy - car had water up to the floorboards, good gamble. water dog- car has been completely under. Good karma required. Myself, I would get one that is already running and avoid a possible hydro locked engine.
