God may punish me for picking on the weak-minded, but it struck me that one of the few flaws in the fabled Lamerossa is that it is dated. Yes, even Bruce has turned in his strake-sided steed for the more "modern" horse before the cart Maranello, and if one were truly meant to take Lamerossa seriously, it would be because he has tackled one of the ultimate design challenges of replicating a ferrari; no, not a Testarossa, which has seen its share of imitators, faint and brazen, over these many long years, but the newest, most outrageous design Ferrari has to offer, to wit, the Enzo.
Thus, i make a challenge to those here with an eye for design, and an ability to photochop.
The rules are few, but important:
start with a plebeian vehicle- to me, the Citroen D has potential as a mule on which to build a homemade Enzo, but even it may be too recherche; so pick your model of a base "platform,"(it must be an available vehicle manfactured by a real car manufacturer, ie no DeLoreans or that other one) and post it in its unvarnished form.
Then, the real challenge: replicate, to the best of your ability, an Enzo based on your choice of platform, using items found at Home Depot, or your local hardware store.
Please annotate your build, ie, if you use intake vents from a Frigidaire brand refrigerator, please indicate.
Contestants will be judged by creativity, the most uncommon use of common items, and overall Enzo-ness.
We will then take a poll. May the best win. (NNO- you are disqualified from entering this contest, and may provide no hints, suggestions or comments to the contestants). Thank-you.
