I've just bought myself a new project... a 1958 Lancia Appia Pininfarina Coupe. As you do when you get a new toy, I've looked at every bit of information I could find on the net, and, although the car seems fairly original, I am curious about the tail lights. I have found one other car with the same. The early cars were definitely different, and others have a flat bottomed lens that seems to fit the ledge below a bit better.

Are my lights original? Were they fitted to anything else? In any case, where can I get some more?

It certainly looks wrong to me, both the tail lights and the ledges. I looked through a lot of Appia material in my home library, and didn't see anything like this. I know someone who has a nicely restored Appia Pf Coupe, perhaps he would know more?

The lights are wrong, better to say aren't original according to the 1958 Italian road rules. Probably it's a modification after the US importing. If you want to know more, PM to me your e-mail and i 'll send to you some photos.
