    This is not a Ferrari.

Is it the early window style B24S with left hand drive or the later type?(early has wrap around wind screen). I know of one early B24S car that sold at auction in California this past August.(now in the Chicago area)

Here is a photo of a later production B24 spider taken at the Ferrari Concours
put on by Chicago the chapter 2 years ago.

OK, my ignorance is showing, was there a Lancia/Ferrari connection?
I always assumed not. (unlike Alfa, FIAT & ASA)

The spider version was designed by Pininfarina. The one I am looking at has 7000 orginal miles, and has been sitting in a garage for 40 years. I am going to try an get some pics. How do I go about finding someone to restore this?

Are you sure you want to restore it? Condition and taste depending, "patina" can be something you may enjoy. They're only original once!

    They are becoming EXPENSIVE.

The car in the above thread is a Convertible, the spider has a speedster type screen and sidescreens.

There's a few for sale and at least one sold at auction in the last couple of months.

    Some more info here:

    IMHO, an alltime classic.

    Regards, John

That spider that sold at Pebble Beach is now in Chicago. I saw the owner driving it last week. He has a very nice car collection!

Yes there was but somewhat O/T here ;)

This one ran the same motor as the 288GTO

    "Lancia Ferrari Tippo LC2 / 83-86

    Chassis No 007

1983 saw Lancia and Ferrari produce the LC2 race car fitted with a 2.6 ltr twin turbo charged unit with a max out put of some 950 bhp at full boost. The engines origin being the famous 288 GTO.

The works Lancia Ferraris then joined up with “Martini” by then world famous for their endurance racing. The 1983 season saw them run at Monza, Silverstone, Le Mans, and Spa before finally clutching victory at Imola. This initial win was followed by a brace of 2nd positions at both Mojello and Kylami.

1984 saw the cars compete in the full championship and managed to achieve 3rd at Monza and a 4th at Silverstone, they qualified 1st and 2nd for Le Man and lead for the majority of the 24hr race finally finishing 6th and 7th, this was followed by a 3rd at the Nurburgring and a spectacular one two at Kylami

1985 was full of promise with a pole at Monza were they took a third place and Le Man were both cars finished followed by a win at Spa. The years total was three thirds one win and five poles.

1986 was the final year for the LC2s Lancia and Martini deciding to go their separate ways.

Chassis No 007 was originally built for the 1983 season and ran as a full Lancia works first team car for three seasons 1983, 84 and 85 upgraded each season it raced until being sold by the Martini team at the end of the 1986 season.

#007 remained in Europe with a well know collector were it continued to compete until it was sold to a Japanese client, used only once in Japan it returned to Europe where it ran at Spa Le Mans and Monza under the historic Grp C regulations."

    Duane,
They are, of course, both PF designs. I'd be glad to help, PM me.

I'll be out of town for almost two weeks. I'm near San Francisco, but will be visiting friends and family in Pennsylvania and the NY/Metro area, as well as attending the Lancia club meet in Wellsboro Pa. next weekend.

There are a few of us out there.

Hard cars to restore but there are folks out there up to the challenge. I think Paul Russel has owned a couple and restored them. Steve Tillack in Philadelphia may have one available as well that needs work. PM me and I can hook you up with some Lancia guys

No, my father was in advanced engineering for a major electronic's company.
His team designed the one gun picture tube back in the 1960's(Sony bought the rights). He also designed the smallest TV in the world back in 1966 with a 1 inch screen, the size of a pack of smokes. They didnt make a smaller TV until the 1990's! Look it up on the web.
