    Hi,

This listing is one you need to walk away from really quickly.

    Lancia Other EVO | eBay

Supposedly a genuine Final Edition Evo 2. Ah no it isn't. The VIN listed by the seller is for an 8V narrow body integrale built in April 1990. It has Evo body panels but 4 stud hubs (should be 5). Front strut tops are 2 bolt whereas the Evo has 3 mount points. Has a VERY modified 16V engine installation which looks like its from an Evo 2 (no distributor). And the colour is wrong as well as the FE models were in Winner Red which is much darker than this Rosso Corsa. There's a lot more that isn't right.

I asked the seller to explain and he replied with ………

"Good luck finding your dream car. Its a renovated 16v Lancia with real evo body panels"

And he chose not to publish his answer on the listing …… not surprising I guess!

I've reported the listing to eBay as a clear case of misrepresentation. If any member on here has been looking at this or knows someone who has please pass this info on.

A concerned integrale owner from New Zealand :).

I know this car. Its legit recently imported to US from Poland and in Stamford Connecticut just like the Ebay ad says. A good reason not to use the real VIN# is because the car is not 25 years old meeting US importation regulations.

Integrale I codrive had 4 bolt hubs, then 5 bolt hubs, then different 4 bolt hubs again.

It's a real Lancia Delta, but she is no EVO, never mind a final edition!

Interesting. I havent seen this one advertised for sale here in Poland locally. We had one final edition that was sold by a friend of mine, imported from Japan, but it was a 94-95 car. If this is a 89 8V, it cant be a final edition... for obvious reasons.

This guy has had a couple of other Lancia's imported and sold from Stamford Ct, usually bearing the Martini racing colors. They look pretty sharp, but don't know much more about them. Has some vids on YouTube as well.

Evidently, this one came from Japan. From a friend who knows more about them from me:

"the original side marker lights have been lowered to meet the Japanese height standard. The HF badge is only there to cover the hole where they were originally mounted.

There are subtle differences inside the car as well. The Japanese market cars did NOT have the auto-check system in the dash above the radio, they just got a small cubby hole - which subsequently holds a garage door opener perfectly.

The cars that went to Japan also had a catalytic converter retrofitted to meet their emissions, whereas the cars sold to other markets that required CATs had them fitted at the factory and had a different passenger floorpan to accommodate it."

Well the seller did reply a second time and confirmed that he THINKS it was a 16V car originally but not an Evo. He also said that it has been fitted with genuine Evo guards, rear doors and front/rear bumpers. Someone has spent a shed load of dollars on this so far but to what purpose.

And if that VIN is true then it does actually meet the 25 yr rule by a few months …… :)

Everything previously posted in this thread so far is correct.

But it is still a very clear case of misrepresentation. People who know the cars will walk away but those that don't who have the lust will I fear be very disappointed down the road.

And just to put things in perspective … a genuine Final Edition recently sold at auction in Japan for just under 6.9 million yen (US$59K). And that car had done 172,000km! Prices in Europe are even higher :).

So, someone spent a lot of $ to update and improve a car (I've sank 10 times more $ into my Lancia than its worth) and risked importing it perhaps illegally to somewhere Lancias hadn't been imported to since ~1982 where the demand is high but finding one already here is rare and then charging a premium and comparing to an existing market is perspective? That is like me complaining to my USA coke dealer that the last kilo I bought in Bolivia was half as cheap. Different risk, different market.

It's a 16V dressed as an Evo, not that uncommon in Europe (especially the Evo spoiler is seen a lot on 8V's and 16V's). If it's technically sound, an asking price of 30K isn't a bad price in the US (where Evo's are not road legal yet, if I understood correct?).

+ actual Final Edtions are a bit more expensive, anywhere from 75K to 135K Euro. As a low mileage example:
