Lancia and Zagato are always special, but the Flaminia Super Sport is certainly the best expression of their cooperation, IMO.

Italy would be the right place to go looking for these cars right now.
Italians are under a financial squeeze like never before and they are shedding anything that may appear as a blip on the fiscal radar.

The super sport is a standard car. A seller can ask for every price, of course, but the difference between the pale blue and the blue car is more than the double.
    Think about it....

Ok, but estimate doesn't means sold for...and that's a 1959 car, a sport, maybe has a race history, 1 of 205 copies, all sports are extra-series cars built under the request of the customer. The SS is 1 of 187 standard and identical copies.

Remember that the same firm sold the PF Flaminia speciale for 275.000$ and it's a motor show car.

It's difficult to say because it depends on who was the owner. Some cars have a known race history (30/35 for sure), some have 1/2 attendances only.

There isn't a value difference on the Super sport, it's a standard car with a single design.
Except for the Mastroianni's car (special body color and some different internal details).
In this case we're talking about a standard car owned by a famous actor, as like as the McQueen's Porsche 911S, the Charlton Heston's Jaguar E spyder, etc.

It's amazing how much these have gone up. Don't buy one now unless you love it.

I think because they are quite rare in the USA. The value isn't so high in Italy.
