Looks like the Stratos HF Zero will be on display at the Petersen Museum http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2012/02/13/italian-style-at-the-petersen/
Cool.If the opportunity presents itself,by all means,go see it.It still looks like a rocket-ship,40 years later!
Will try to work it in. I am in LA / Palm Springs next weekend photographing the Desert Classic Concours, but I'm sure I'll be up for a stop at Petersen on Monday to see a few more cars.
Made it to the Petersen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24302083@N05/6905638202/in/set-72157629391181518
The Stratos rule is: when it starts to slide, never lift. Steer your way out of it. I enjoyed #1882 for many years and the track is the best place to learn. Your car is beautiful. There used to be another light blue car in NY owned by Armand Giglio.
Yes, there are a set for sale in Spain. 800€ http://www.mercadoracing.org/38/471439/material-lancia-stratos.html Also a windshield. An original Stradale for sale too... http://www.mercadoracing.org/5/72145/lancia-stratos-en-venta.html
Thanks Isaac. That thing looks like a starship even today. The setting is perfect and makes it seem more so.
Thanks! It really is an amazing car from an era that is gone... something really special to see! quick handheld @ about 1/30 of a second. I hope to go back and do a proper "garage" and series photos... some hot metal in that garage; some which we've seen at EoD. It's not in SE Michigan, but it is in our fine state. Check my fb page for a few more pictures.
I posted this earlier in the Dino section when this would have obviously been a better place... Does anyone know of a good online reference to recent Stradale version sales. The only recent sale I could document was one at the RM Monaco auction last May. Warm regards, Bill Noon [email protected] 619 840 7811
Well Bill , Max sold one Stradale yesterday in London and next week Matthieu at Artcurial is trying to sell an original Group 4 . Both seem quite good ie clean so we will have benchmark at least for Europe.
The RM sale set the value at that given moment. I tried to buy that car about four months ago for a fair amount less. The owner was right not to take my offer. It was a great car and I am sure the new owner is going be be very pleased with his purchase. Ciao, Bill
The old and the new. All I know about the new one is that it uses the Ferrari F430 engine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
