Rob - I stumbled on your post the other day about getting your license, and it was like a good novel for me. I could not stop reading it.

Flying has always been something I have wanted to do, ever since I was a little kid. Reading your story was very cool, and it seemed like you had some little kid moments in there where you got frustrated with yourself and with the process.

Anyway, I could have PM'd you this I guess, but your landing videos reminded me of all the practice you did and how you seemed to prefer landing in wind.

Sometime soon I hope to start the process myself, and then put my daughter Mia in the back and head out (My Mia is 7 now, and acts like a teenager already).

    Are you still flying regularly?

Very cool, I say just go for it! well, go for it once you can commit the time and money to at least fly once a week. you might be able to get away with once every 2 weeks after you get your license. I see too many people either not fly enough in training and never finish or after they get their license they stop flying. It is a skill you need to brush up on often to stay safe for yourself and others.

I fly at least once a week. I mix it up between cross country destination flights in the T182T, local fly-ins, scouting hunting ponds, and then some local tailwheel fun. Tomorrow I'm going out in a 172 to shoot approaches with an instructor. Instrument is that much harder to stay sharp and I always struggle with the 172 after not flying it in months, it just floats and floats! Good news landing the T182T, Citabria, and Super D are close to riding a bike now.

    Let us know if questions.
