Looks like we had upwards of 15 members and cars at the Speedway today to turn laps for charity. An added bonus was Steve Fordham, new Service Manager at Boardwalk, who matched our contributions resulting in our 3 laps turning into 6. They still went by too fast!

Great to see everyone out there, including Otis from Alberta, Canada who is a loyal FCA member.

Thanks Don for getting us organized and Steve for Boardwalk's contribution. Let's do it again next year!

Thank you to all the members who allowed Boardwalk to be part of it!

Alot of fun as well as funny stories were shared over the day's events. Getting to know alot of new people as well as a few I already knew as well, made for a great day!

Future Ferrari only track day is in the works!

Last night was too much fun! We had a blast. Ended up driving 9 laps but seemed like 5 or 6. It really felt good to to let the car run again. And thank you Steve and Boardwalk for sponsoring the extra fun. It really made a difference in our experience.

One sad note, I guess my 25 year old windshield was not used to the G's on those high banks. Any suggestions for replacement?

ended up doing 12 laps with my father... that was a blast. VERY cool and for a great cause. Thanks to all who helped put it together.

I have about 10 minutes of video on the track from the drivers perspective in our 458, hoping to edit it and post it with in a the next 2 weeks.

It would be cool to see that video. I think I was the car in front of you in the Silver 550. You guys looked like you were have a lot of fun. I couldn't do the back off speed up thing due to the pace truck right in front of me.

    What a blast!

Thanks Don for organizing and thanks Steve at Boardwalk for the extra laps.

Thanks for the pictures and looking forward to the video. Cheryl and I really enjoyed visiting with you, your Dad, and Otis at the restaurant. You guys have had some neat adventures. I think Cheryl liked talking about chef business better than Ferrari stuff.

I told my friends that Cheryl and I took a Pinto to a Cobra meet, but we still had fun.

    Enjoy the 500, too.

Jerry thanks for the kind words! I definitely enjoyed our conversation! the event was a blast and I really hope to see both you and your wife at some of the upcoming events. I definitely like food more than Ferrari's, hopefully that wont get me shot here :)

Love your guys ride, love all the rides. I spend a lot of time in the model specific threads learning what I can from a distance!

Will post that video after the 500. Thanks again.

Basically, show up. First come first serve. Clubs and groups arrive early and go first. There will be several clubs there. Mustangs, Corvettes, etc. Some times for things you didn't know had a club.

Enter through the south tunnel entrance, follow the signs or cars into the large parking area on your left in the infield area. It is south of the garages, so as soon as you go up the hill from the tunnel, it is on your left.

Find the official person in line selling tickets.

It is a great car show, if nothing else, but driving on the track is super fun.

About 20 (I think) cars at a time.

Don't pass the pace trucks. You can lay back bit and go faster for a short distance, but you have to watch what the cars in front of and behind you are doing. The pace truck driver may signal you to slow down. They are good if you don't do anything really crazy.

The front stretch dog-leg out of turn 4 is a bit tricky, make sure you give yourself plenty of room and make it as longer curve. Don't follow the lines on the track through the dog-leg. They are for the spectators.

    Speeds are 90-100 mph.

All of this is based on years past. If the logistics have changed, it still won't be a problem.

Early is better than late, but there is time to get out of your call and talk or look at the other cars.

Go to the "laps for Charity" website linked above.

    Have fun,

    Jerry

This is a great event and a even better charity. Unfortunately it falls on a very busy weekend on 2015. It would be nice to improve our presence every year. But as we all know life happens. Hopefully in 2016 we can make a huge statement.

    Had a great time!!
Saw one Ferrari, a 458. A Lotus Exige. A few Porsches, including my own, plus a cool yellow Boxster and what looked to me to be a 996 generation turbo. Only made it up to 85 mph, but still fun to be on the TMS track, plus a good cause...T
