    To celebrate Arlington's cenntenial last summer the city hired an artist to paint giant mosaics around town depicting the heritage and the country around here when it was pioneered. Better seen in person.

    The following is a mosaic almost a block long showing the country around here and the animals in it. Individual shots start at the bottom and go up the hill.

    Pretty cool. There has been a few of those popping up around Bremerton as well. Just spotted one that was recently finished and want to get a pic of the 308 in front of it sometime.

    wow!! that looks awesome. I love revitalization, but the three cows just looks a little weird!!!

    Wow, so beautiful.

    I just hope that - in this day-and-age - these exquisite pieces aren't vandalised by a bunch of whacked-out kids... It would be so tragic...

    They've been up for over a year and so far, so good.
    It has been made up for by a cross burning in someone's front yard. A pastor's no less.

    My new camera is a Canon EOS 10D. 6.3 meg
    28mm-90mm
    55mm-200mm zoom

    I have been so busy on the 308 I haven't had a chance to check it out. I shot the pictures in this thread with my 1.2 meg Fujifilm point and shoot.

    Not typical of the area and the people. I think more an exception than the rule. It only takes one idiot (which it was) to make a stupid statement like that.

    There are always pockets of ignorance and intolerance where ever you go. All in all I find this town one of the better places I've lived in Washington over the last 40 years. I have lived all over the Puget Sound area and this area still hasn't been ruined, at least not yet. Progress is inevitable though.

    I was going to say "Mural" but I didn't want to sound like a bossy dad. Damn good job of showing the pictures of the artwork and presenting the good part of the town. A nice break from the boredom of the "off car season". Good art, even if I say so.
