This pair of replicas caught my eye at a local auction warehouse. I think they were hung from the ceiling of a restaurant, but the detail is better than you'd expect. P-51 looks great up close. The Fokker is a little too smooth/shiny and lacks detail.

The p-51 has an 11' wingspan. Not even sure how I'd get it home if I bought it (looks like the wings might be removable)...Any idea what something like this might be worth?

The Dr.I is very crude and inaccurate and I would not want it in my house.

That DR 1 is terrible and the P-51 doesn't look too well done to me also.

Tough crowd. Fun decorations for a shop or gameroom.... I don't think they're meant to be museum pieces. It was a restaurant auction, after all.

The Rhino looks pretty accurate, though.

What kind of restaurant has a Rhino?

Point well taken and I agree that it isn't museum quality stuff but when one has spent his life striving to achieve total accuracy in what one is doing, then it is a bit of a jolt to see something that isn't as good as it could be when so much effort was put into it in the first place. A subjective situation but in this case, it would be good to hang in a rec room or a man cave.

The sad thing is that I had a scale model flying RC example of the DR1 that looked far better than that...real fabric covering, scale fuselage structure simulated underneath, etc. It even had the machine guns (which this is missing). Also the horizontal tail was not a scale foot thick.

Sadly, it took me about 3 years to build it, and I was always afraid to fly it. So, it became a display piece.

It was destroyed in a fire at my old chemical business back in the early 90s.

OK - nobody has given out a price for these - but I would bid $100 for the Mustang and $50 for the triplane...but only if I wanted them for a commercial "fun" venue.

I agree that I would not want either of them displayed in my own house.

Does the P-51 come with the Rhino? It looks like it's "integrated" into the wing!
