As one of the bidders for Ricambi's Larini muffler, (see thread mufflerhttp://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=270149 )- I was dissapointed to be out-bid.
All's well that ends well. Daniel is expecting a new shipment for four- valve cars the first part of Febuary and I have decided to buy one. As usual, my experience with Ricambi was exceptional. Danial and I agreed to a very reasonable price. For the record, I did not attempt to haggle with Daniel (a practice I frown upon). He knew I was one of the bidders because I contacted him after the auction closed just in case the deal with the winning bidder didn't work out.

I purchased a Larini for my 82 2v injected car from Daniel at Ricambi. I was very happy with the experience. Daniel was very nice, and made himself available to me for questions and updates from ordering to delivery.
As for the exhaust itself, I could not be happier. Of course it looks great, (not to difficult compared to the ugly factory muffler) but it really is very nicely made. Its much lighter than stock, although again, not too difficult with that zepplin Ferrari installed at the factory. That said, the sound is really what I like. Its only a little louder than stock at idle, and even at full throttle is not painful. However, the best part for me is that it sounds more aggressive, but still like a 308. I personally dont want my 308 to sound like a 355, (as great as a 355 sounds!). I like it to sound like what it is, just a little "less civilized".
I would definitely buy another Larini, and of course would give Daniel a call for it.

I've never heard a 328 with a Larini so I appreciate the feedback. I couldn't find one on youtube. I'm sure it's going to sound great. I can't wait to hear it while driving thru the Fort Pitt tunnel. :)

So, sooooooo refreshing in the world of f-cars (or business in general for that matter!) to see someone (Daniel/Ricambi) get universally rave reviews over the long haul. What a great thing. I don't buy a whole lot of proprietary f-car parts but if I do then Daniel/Ricambi is the place I most frequently go.

Last week I installed a new larini exhaust on my 328 gts with already a testpipe from Larini.
The instalation is easy, the fit almost perfect, only two shims to get it right.
The finish of the exhaust is superb, the sound is super. With stationaire rpm its not much louder, but after you pull the throttel its a different story. With incresead rpm the sound gets into a beautyful howl. You won 't regret it. At the workshop they told me it sounded much better as a tuby. A friend of mine who also drives a 328 agreed.
Good luck, and let me know.
    Greetings from Holland

The Larini looks like a nice piece though personally I would not buy an aftermarket muffler without hearing it live on the same car. A U tube sound/video clip is not particularly useful since first, the sound quality is minimal at best and second, they are all done from outside the car...But I'm INSIDE the car. I want to know how loud it is on the inside. If I HAD to rely on Utube for some reason, I'd want a db reading in the car at idle, cruise, and WOT in order to make an informed decision. Someone else saying they like it doesn't mean I'll like it.

Last set of aftermarket muffs I bought were Fabspeeds on my 911 and I took them off/put the oems back on after a few months because I couldn't deal with the noise on a daily basis.

It's not THAT loud; just sounds better...and without the Tubi 4K RPM drone.

If you would like to hear the sound go to http://www.larinisystems.com/catalogue.php
and see the video of the 328 GTB. And indeed there is no 4k tubi drone. Just sounds great, also its not to loud at crusing speed.

Tried to watch it but my Mac does not understand the video format, whatever it is. Never had that happen before. Guess it's a sign from the exhaust Gods!

Mine will be here tomorrow :). Too bad the weather here is so rotten. I'll be all set this spring though, complete with a fresh service and awsome sounding exhaust.

I'll weigh mine when I get it home, but I think it's been discussed before. Maybe someone has a link.
