who remembers Wild Bill at the Silver City? I put late 80s up there as date of old photo, I'm guessing 87 or 88. Jumping fountains went in the Stardust in 87, Riv didn't have it's mirrored facade up yet prior to 89, I think Riv Splash signage changed around then too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was talking to somebody this week about the old Bellagio staircase, so for those interested. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Although I do make a yearly visit to Jerry's Nugget for pies (driving past another tent city), it's been 5 years since I stepped into Silver Nugget (I try to avoid eating or being bit by bugs while dining) Here's a slice of what the Silver Nugget once was. A peek into their coffee shop in the early days. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I would have liked to been around in those days. Even when I started coming out here in the 80's it was such a different place. Thanks for all the photos, they are interesting to see.

One of my first trips to Vegas, many years back I stayed at the Glass Pool Inn. There was a wonderful bikini contest there that weekend. Oh the fun times...........Thing was, back then I had no money but I could still afford Vegas. These days things are far different here. I remember one trip I got free airfare as long as I took the redeye flight to Vegas and stayed 2 nights. Rooms were cheap back then by anyone's standards.
Vegas can still be done on the cheap, you just have to manage your expectations, which admittedly, is difficult with everything so easily available. Mark
I think parts of those beautiful signs are preserved at the neon museum... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
