She no longer works for the FAA.

I'm assuming that means she was fired. Seems difficult they would have removed her for a medical condition.

    https://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/local-news/air-traffic-controller-incapacitated-on-duty-no-longer-with-faa/1591527943

"The FAA is deeply concerned by the incident, is thoroughly investigating what occurred, and is taking immediate steps to modify its overnight shift staffing policies. No safety events occurred during this incident. The controller is being placed on administrative leave and restricted from working air traffic."

Mentioned on other thread, pilots were told she had a stroke.

If a pilot had a stroke during flight....would he/she be removed for a medical condition?
I don’t understand why that would be difficult to believe.

Why would the FAA fire someone with a medical condition?

Well doesn’t it say she was placed on administrative leave?

That’s not necessarily a firing. Sounds like she is medically disabled.

    Hope she recovers!

I have had one. And it sounds like a stroke to me. A minor incident will sneak up on you and you really don't know what is happening to you. My left eye quit working and then my mouth wouldn't work correctly and I lost feeling in my left face. I was treated semi quickly and regained full usage in several months after anti-coagulants and carotid inefficiencies were solved. No more flying. Bad stuff. I hope that she is properly cared for. I'm pulling for her.

Don't understand having only one controller at any time... so you'd need 3 of them, not 2 as they had, so that during a break, there would still be 2 on duty.

It's not uncommon to have only one controller on at a time during very slow hours. Heck, at lots of fairly large airports, the tower closes altogether after a certain time!
