They announced the times and they did what I thought they would --- they changed the times several hours earlier. Still the week before Thanksgiving. Vegas is Pacific Standard Time so this is the local time.

Technically the race will end at the stroke of Midnight so people still have time to go and party on the Strip. Midnight is EARLY.

That will make it easier to watch on TV. I'm not going back, the value to cost ratio isn't there for me.

Looks like tickets will go on sale 3/25, with those who placed deposits a few days prior... They added a bunch of GA/Stand Room only areas.

At grandstands starting at $1500, I wonder if we are going to see a repeat of last year with prices diving as we get closer to the event?

@DF1 One of these days... I may be in London, Como and then Sofia in June for work, but none of it lines up with a race unfortunately.

Ticket prices seem to be slightly less this year. Maybe $200 - $300 on average. General Admission now only $150. Pit straights start at $2700. I was at the Sphere location. Not the best place to see "action" but the entertainment was quite good as was all the food you can eat (soft drinks also free). In case you're wondering, plenty of restrooms nearby.
Tickets go on sale on March 25th

I guess this makes he inflation proof, I would pay $1500 to see this race or any other. In fact, I wouldn't pay that to see anything.

Anyone attending the LVGP should keep an eye out for all the pop-ups. There were a ton last year and drivers made appearances throughout the weekend (got to see Leclerc at XS!). Because information is hard to come by, you can connect with other fans who are at the race sharing updates using the FanAmp app.

I bought advance tickets today through my contact who I've been working with since shortly after the race ended last year. Once again this year I'm at the MSG Sphere district but I'm moving a little north to be closer to turn 8. It should have a little better view of the video screens and the performance stage. Prices are just a little cheaper than last year. My seat is about $2200. I think it was $2500+ fees last year. I'm 31 rows up out of 33.

Anyone getting seats in the Sphere area can know its an easy walk from the Venetian / Palazzo hotel and across Sands Ave to Wynn / Encore. Also about a 10 minute walk to reach the Strip itself at Sands Ave by Fashion Mall.

TICKETS GO ON SALE on Ticketmaster on MONDAY, 3-25 to everyone. There is no special AMEX pre-buy. I put down a deposit last year so I got on the advance sales list.

If someone wants something special they can contact this guy. He has suites and groups and things that Ticketmaster is difficult to get info on. I get no "kick back" or whatever so there's no need to mention me if you contact him. I'm just passing over the information to anyone who is interested to make life easier.

Hey not so rich F1 fans going to Vegas - you are now officially labeled - 'Backpacker'.

God forbid you dont spend 40bozillion$ to see circles driven. You needed a name I guess lol.

F1 to sell 10,000 "backpacker" tickets for 2024 Las Vegas GP
Formula 1 has altered its approach to ticket sales for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, issuing 10,000 “backpacker” tickets after realising it had isolated many existing fans.

F1 returned to Vegas for a first grand prix in 41 years with the 2023 event eventually won by Red Bull’s
Max Verstappen, using a new track incorporating the city’s famous Strip.

But the event attracted considerable criticism for some initial ticket packages costing close to $1,000 for just the Thursday practice running, before prices fell considerably closer to the event.

This decision was down to promoter Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc, which is owned by F1 commercial rights holder Liberty Media, trying to implement “the learnings we saw in Miami in year one” in terms of expensive hospitality offerings, according to event CEO Renee Wilm.

Speaking at the Motorsport Stage at Soho Beach House ahead of this weekend’s third Miami race, Wilm was asked what the main lesson LVGP had picked up following its first event as an F1 race promoter last year.

“We really did take some of the best practices from around the globe that we incorporated into our event,” she replied.

“But we also would love to set the bar even higher with that fan experience and on the sporting side. So, we couldn’t have been prouder that it was a fantastic race.

“I think one of the biggest takeaways for us was the fan engagement and creating a product ladder that was more accessible via a wider variety of fans.

“We leaned very heavily on the high-end, VIP hospitality outside of the paddock based on some of the learnings we saw here in Miami in year one.

“And, unfortunately, that led to a lot of our fanbase really not being able to afford the ticket to be on track, and that’s not something we want to do – we never want to isolate our fans.

“So, this year we’ve completely revamped and we’ve added about 10,000 additional, much more affordable tickets.

“Some leaning in on entertainment, some closer to the paddock so that you can be part of those initial turns of the track.

“And then much lower priced in the Flamingo Zone to allow those entry-level backpackers to really enjoy the event.”

Tickets on the LVGP Inc website currently have general admission tickets for the 2024 event available from $150, with the top level hospitality packages at $12,500.

Wilm also said “from a personal perspective, I would love for the Las Vegas GP to be the last race of the season” in the future but admitted F1 had to be “respectful to our partners” in this regard.

Since 2014, F1’s season finales have all taken place at the Abu Dhabi track.

“I now know, first-hand, how hard it is to be a promoter,” Wilm added.

“I think one of the takeaways from this project has made us a lot more sympathetic to what it takes to put on this kind of event.

“I think it would be an incredible opportunity for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but it would be a big concession from our partners in the Middle East.”

They are doing things more for locals this year which I thought they really screwed up in year 1. 100 days until the event. They will start construction in September this year of the stands. It seems like the Mirage will not have stands this year any as its under construction for the Hard Rock changeover. That's several thousand less seats.

F1 to host free Las Vegas Grand Prix fan event

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/f1-to-host-free-las-vegas-grand-prix-fan-event-3129149

Formula One will host a free fan event on the Strip during Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.

The F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Fan Experience is scheduled for Nov. 22-23 on the Wynn West site, which is located directly across Las Vegas Boulevard from Wynn, situated between Fashion Show mall and Resorts World.

The daytime fan attraction will run between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day and feature F1 and F1 academy team appearances, local food trucks, live entertainment and interactive fan events, such as a pit stop simulator challenge.

Free tickets for the fan event will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday on the race’s website and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“During race weekend, we transform the Strip into a place where fans of all ages can immerse themselves in all things Formula 1,” Renee Wilm, CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, said in a statement “The F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Fan Experience will be a daytime celebration where new Formula 1 fans can learn about the sport, and longtime aficionados can get up close and personal with their favorite teams, hypercars, interactive activations and much more.”

Those who secure free tickets to the fan fest will be sent an exclusive offer to purchase tickets to the race in multiple general admission zones.

The Grand Prix runs on a 3.8-mile circuit, mainly on public roads including Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane and Harmon and Sands Avenue.

Roadwork tied to setting up for the race is planned to begin Sept. 1 at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon. Race officials next week will launch a dedicated race traffic website to allow motorists to stay up to date on the latest infrastructure work tied to the event.

100 days to go until race time

On Thursday evening, Las Vegas Grand Prix officials celebrated the milestone of 100 days until the race occurs by giving away 100 pairs of tickets to November’s race.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, fans signed up to win one of 100 pairs of grandstand tickets to the race at either Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas or Cornerstone Park in Henderson.

Drawings for 50 pairs of tickets at each location took place that evening at 6:40 p.m.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix also planned to carry out a marquee takeover at various Strip hotels and other sites of interest, such as the Sphere, later Thursday night.

    What’s the crowd like?

I was thinking of going this year but when I was in Vegas this June I was turned off by how trashy the crowd was. That’s the first time I’ve been back in awhile and I was shocked how much it has changed.

    Is the race crowd better?

I think this year’s event may turn out to be a dud. It feels like all these new activities F1 is trying to inject is an admission that interest so far has been soft as best. Hotel bookings are definitely soft. Prices at the big 3 (Bellagio, Aria, Vdara) are down over 50% from where they opened. As of last check, Friday and Saturday nights at Vdara are $399 each. Other MGM properties have prices typical of a normal weekend.

Bellagio lost its grandstands. It’s only offering the Fountains Club hospitality. There does not appear to be any non-F1 controlled grandstands this year. Maybe F1 put a stop to that?

Bottom line: I’m skipping this year and coming back for Hamilton in 2025.

The race crowd was pretty good last year but as soon as they leave it becomes evident this is otherwise the least active weekend all calendar year.

I haven't heard Bellagio lost the grandstands. They put them in storage by the Cosmo. The trees they cut down on the sidewalk last year were replaced with ones in removable pots so they don't have to cut them down each year. But it could be true. I just haven't heard that. I know Bellagio made a killing last year.

Fontainbleu was not open last year but is planning a large watch party. There were only 3 grandstands that were under Strip Hotel control last year. Venetian which was invitation only and very small, the Mirage --but its under construction now and won't have any, and the Bellagio. Caesars did not. Citicenter had very little viewing room. Ellis Island had 2 very small sections. The biggest sections were along Pits / Start Finish, along Koval on both sides, around The Sphere, and along Harmon on one side. All those are either permanent or being reassembled starting in September. So yes there will be fewer seats but most of it is the Mirage.

Wynn has stated it has seen no drop off of interest. It had a large watch party across the Strip. I'm assuming its coming back.

The one big change is the temporary bridge crossing Harmon is smaller so local traffic can go down Audrey. That was a major problem and the cause of a lot of the negative press and even lawsuits. That and of course they don't need to resurface the Strip again which caused most of the headaches.

The first time you hold an event like this, its going to have initial excitement and also teething problems. Its amazing they pulled it off with so little time. And the F1 racing itself was really good. This year, its learning how to improve from last year.

MGM definitely did well last year. My 3 nights in a regular room at MGM was $4400 in order to get 2 Bellagio grandstand seats at $2500 each- prepay Nov 2022 with no modifications and no refunds. They introduced the Fountains Club level hospitality a few months later. This year there is no sign of anything at a lower price point than Fountain Club. If demand stays soft and there are bargains to be had I wouldn't rule out booking some last minute package. Last year there were a lot of unique dining opportunities. I was fortunate enough to have dinner with Morimoto followed by brunch with Nobu and dinner with Julian Serrano before the race. I hope there continue to be such opportunities this year. On a side note, the newly opened Paris Versailles tower balcony rooms seem like a slam dunk deal for viewing combined with a hotel stay.

They are adding a Ferrari Challenge race to activities.

F1 adds 2nd racing series to Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/f1-adds-second-racing-series-to-las-vegas-grand-prix-weekend-3162724/

Formula One is adding more racing action to Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend with the addition of the Ferrari Challenge.

Set to take place over the three days of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Nov. 21-23, the Ferrari Challenge racing series features Ferrari drivers competing against each other on race tracks across the globe.

“The addition of the Ferrari Challenge series further demonstrates our commitment to delivering an even bigger and better racing event than ever before,” Silvia Bellot, vice president of sporting and race operations at Las Vegas Grand Prix, said in a statement. “Last year we made the dream of racing down Las Vegas Boulevard a reality, and we are thrilled that we can now offer fans twice the racing action for the price of a single ticket.”

On Nov. 21, practice for the Ferrari Challenge will take place at 8:eek:5 p.m., with qualifying at 11:30 p.m. The first race starts at 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 22 with the the second race scheduled for 6:20 p.m. on Nov. 23. Each race on the 3.8-mile circuit, along portions of Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane and Harmon and Sands avenues, will last about 35 minutes.

The Ferrari Challenge rounds will be held in between nightly Las Vegas Grand Prix rounds during race weekend. Practice 1 for the grand prix is scheduled for between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Practice 2 between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Nov. 21. A third practice round is planned to run between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Nov. 22, with qualifying planned for 10 p.m.-11 p.m. that night. The Las Vegas Grand Prix itself is set to begin at 10 p.m. on Nov. 23.

The Ferrari Challenge garages will be located at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Fan Experience, planned for the Wynn West lot, located across Las Vegas Boulevard from Wynn and Encore resorts. Hosting the garages there will allow for those attending the free fan event an up-close view of hundreds of challenge cars. The free, daytime fan experience is planned for Nov. 22 and 23 and features F1 and F1 Academy team appearances, live entertainment and local food trucks.

“We are very proud and delighted to offer our Ferrari Challenge drivers the chance to compete on a circuit that has become instantly iconic, as part of the weekend that sees Formula 1 starring on the same track,” Antonello Coletta, global head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, said in a statement. “The success of our one-make series is also based on offering customers the opportunity to compete on the best and most spectacular tracks in the world, and the setting provided by Las Vegas is undoubtedly unique in this respect.”
