I will be driving to Concorso this year and have heard jamming laser signals is illegal in California. Is this true and what happens if an out of state car has laser jamming equipment installed when entering CA? What methods are you guys using, please don’t indict yourselves.

Radar and laser detectors are legal in CA. Radar jamming is illegal, due to FCC regulations. I don't think laser jammers are illegal, but do they work?

enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.
    (c) Except as provided in subdivision (d), a violation of
subdivision (a) or (b) is an infraction.
    (d) When a person possesses four or more devices in violation of
subdivision (b), the person is guilty of a misdemeanor.
    (e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person who has a

    jh355,

The California Highway Patrol has issued Stalker Lidar guns in the larger cities, slowly but surely, they are being distributed throughout the state. The cycle patrols carry them exclusively from my observations traveling up and down this state.

For the mostpart, the CHP cars have the Stalker Dual radar. They are installed both on the cars and motorcycles. The reason why its called the Stalker Dual, is because it has two radar antenna. One in front, and one in back. So they can read you speed coming and going. The best defense against getting popped is to have your radar detector set on Highway mode while traveling on the freeway. When you get a steady Ka chirp, slow it down. The advantage is that the Stalker has a powerful blast of radar signal that is detectable up to 5 miles unobstructed. If you know your detector well, you can tell when you are getting a microwave Ka and a cop Ka. Be weary of some of the small towns here that still have antique K and X band radar guns. They still have them!
Another favorite is the "Your Speed" boxes which are nothing more than scarecrows. Rarely do cop motor bikes hide down the road from the "Your Speed" boxes, but watch out for them.

Remember, in Califelony, they can impound for going over 100mph and 25mph over any posted limit. If they are in a forgiving mood, they MAY let you drive away with a ticket, but you know how "they" can be.

    Thanks RacerX_GTO,

I'll be driving the "B" car and attempt to keep it under 80, but thinking it may be a more relaxed drive if I use the Escort plug in device.

Doesn't sound like the CHP invests as heavely in laser?
