I have a couple of dealers that I'm talking to about taking my Ferrari 355 Berlinetta on consignment. I'm trying to find the best dealer, so in the mean time this is the last time my car will be listed by me. After it goes to a dealer the price will increase to cover the commissions, insurance, and transportation.

This car is very nice and I would love to see it go to a fellow f-chatter.

Call me if you want more details.

    Thanks,

    - Bill

If you want to know why I'm selling the Ferrari... look what I just put in my garage yesterday...

I'll be back with another Ferrari as soon as the 360 Spiders come down in price.

The GT is a fantastic car, congratulations. Have a friend who just finished his first run at VIR in his this weekend, absolutely loves it (he's on this board some too, just not enough ;) )

Good luck selling the 355. Seems like a smokin' deal to me.

I forgot to add this... if one of you tells a friend and they buy it, I'll give you a $500 finders fee. It's not much, but it may buy some beer. Just be sure you send me the friends contact info or let me know somehow that you pointed someone my direction.

    Thanks for the comments.

Not meaning to sound like a wanker, but I've never heard of someone RAISING the price of a car after not being able to sell it for their original ask. ???

Seems like the thread title should read "Last chance to buy my 355 for $70K, next stop - $65K!"

You're not being a wanker for saying this. That is logical.

BUt here's the other side of the story. Dealers are asking for 6 to 12% commissions, so that cost has to paid by someone. Dealers get more money for Ferrari's for some reason. Since they can extract more dollars from qualified buyers, it's worth some money to have them do the sale. So if I have a dealer consign the car, they will easily get more money than I could, but I have to pay a commission. So they mark the car up to the "Dealer Market Value" and I can pay them a nice commission for taking the hassle out of me selling the car.

That's the story I was told by two dealers. Sounds logical to me.

I would never sell this car for $65,000. I just spent over $14,000 in services and would keep it for 3 years before letting her go for less than $68,500.

Awesome car, great price. Nice to see one with some miles as they seem to get stronger as the miles increase.

Too bad its not late sept, I am closing on my new house and will be getting back the large deposit I had to give the builder to go to contract.

I saw the pictures of your 328. That is a beautiful car. I'm surprised its still for sale. Good luck, I'm sure it will sell soon.
