    I remember watching "Call to Glory" when I was in gradeschool and one of my favorite scenes of that show was one of them starting up.

    Sad to think about, some of the best flying machines are behind us: sr71, shuttle, & concorde.

    Shuttle... best flying machine???... flew (no, glided) like a school bus full of rocks, I've heard.


    But, I agree, it's gone, and was remarkable.
