Ok so with a few phone calls and a never ending desire to hit the pavement, a few of us NJ and "other side of the Hudson" NY folks are going to meet up for a casual run tomorrow AM.

We were going to head out to LI, but based on logistics we decided it would be best to keep it some what local.

We'll be meeting at approx. 9am in Piermont, NY for a cup of coffee and a drive. Here's the crew...

    993 Guy (993)
    Whart (Diablo)
    Clyde (308)
    Mike (C4 Cab)

If you want to join let us know and we'll see you tomorrow AM.

    Great run!
Kudos to Bill for setting this up last minute.
Folks, this is absolutely a wonderful area that we will need to revisit come spring. Wonderful rolling roads, no police, wonderful scenery,
    and a great egg sandwich!

Great seeing Bill, Greg, Eric, and Mike.
Pics later after I resize them.

Ya, Mon. I had a few special moments- trading gansta hand-signals with some urban youth on the Tappan Zee near the end; the wanker in the van who decided to cut me off as we left Chappaqua for Pleasantville; but all in all, a terrific morning. The route, for those who are interested, basically centers around Rt 22 in NY.
We approached by taking Rt. 100 North, through Briarcliff, Millwood, along the reservoirs.
Took a right, going East, on Rt. 35- near Katonah, then left onto Rt.22, going north toward Brewster. A mile or so before Brewster, near some waterfalls (might be a sewage treatment plant for all I know), you take a right at the sign that says, "Salem Center." This road takes you out of Putnam County, back into Westchester, and depending on where you go from there, you can find some fine backroads- Titicus Road, along the reservoir, is great- we didn't take that- instead, we pulled south on Rt. 121; going toward Cross River, through Bedford. When we got to Rt. 35, we made a right, went about 1/2 mile, and then picked up the southbound continuation of 121. We took a right at the sign marked for the Caramour Art Center, a very twisty backroad; that eventually merges back into Rt. 22 right at good ol' Martha Stewart's farm. And there we were, back to Rt. 22.

Thanks, Eric. BTW, the longer version of the route involves going up to the Lakeville area near the track at Limerock- through Kent, along Rt. 7, if memory serves, it is just spectacular up in Conn. You can then do a 'pit stop' at the track- grab a burger, buy some motoring accessories at the track shop, and be on your way. I suspect there is still snow on the ground up there right now, but in a few months, spring will be here....
Good to see all of you.

Let's certainly do that route once the weather is optimal. Sounds like the perfect 1/2 day drive and with the Lime Rock "pit stop", it's a great run.

I was.....busy......yesterday after the run. So here ya go now.
btw: the red GTO is pictured just before he saw Bill's Lambo & backed-off.
And I had LOTS of shots...AVIs of Greg's knee while he was in charge of the camera. They'd be nice shots if you were Scarlett Johansson but alas they were omitted here.
    :p

Appreciate the response, Eric.. My tired ass couldnt get up Sunday early to make it there. Looks like you gents had a great time. Cant wait to hit that route in the warmer weather.

Your Diablo is gorgeous. Like the color. Not a "common" color Diablo. Ive been keepin my eye on some Diablo's for my next 4 wheel toy.

I hear ya John. Not always easy to get up but this run was worth the struggle. :)

Bill's Bull is one of the most beautiful you will find. The color and combination of CF is stunning...

Would have been great to have you with us David. It was really a last minute decision and we just figured that anyone who could join would. Next time we'll plan a bit in advance.

As for the GTO...it was actually not in great shape. The dude driving it was a little shaky to say the least and it didn't even have reg. tags on it. We were happy to see it go...and pics wouldn't have been worth the effort.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The car in the flesh is really stunning, because the color is less 'cranberry' than it appears in the pics- it's really like candy apple red, without overt sparklies, though it does have some attributes of metallic, and a slightly green, to dark cast as the color goes toward the edges of the body work.

That GTO was a beater. It was also jacked up ridiculously high in the rear end, something I haven't seen much of since my days as a teen in Pittsburgh, Pa, when all the greasers had jacked up cars. (Remember, it was the steel city, heavy on american iron, and some serious tuners, like Yenko, were setting the benchmark. Of course, most of the cars in those days were done by shade tree mechanics, except it was smoke stacks, not trees, that created the shade).

Absolutely. We had a great run yesterday to Lamborghini of Bergen County which we have posted on. We've got some special runs planned in the upcoming months as well as lots of impromptu ones that gather steam in the preceeding week. Best thing to do is to check back to this sub-forum often!

Welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing the Ford GT.
