Need a little advice please!!! Heading to NYC tomorrow with the family.
3 kids, 14,12,9. We are doing the usual museums, Planetarium, parks etc.

I could use some help on anything else we should see, Kid friendly!!. And most importantly restaurants. We are used to nice places when we are on our own. Now with three kids I would like to see some warhorses (Lombardi's etc) but also have some nice dinners that the places aren't too stuffy for the kids but killer food and casual dress.

We'll be at the Sofitel so we can go pretty much anywhere.

I appreciate any advise!! Sorry for the last minute cry for help.

    Marty

    Mars 2112 is overrated.

For dinner, the best steak joint is wolfgangs, former guy from peter lugers.

Take the kids to Dylans candy store in the 60' off midtown cool place.

Central park in good weather is alway fun to hang out and watch the people.

Nike town, every kid loves that place.

Itailian food go to carmines, good family atmosphere.

Go to SOHO to walk around, a lot of cool shops and clothing stores.

Gotta go see the fire works.

Agreed. I did not really like Mars 2112 but JEKELL AND HYDE IS GREAT as well as the Hard Rock Cafe.

Jekell & Hyde is a themed resturant from the well known Jekell & Hyde Story. There are two resturants in NYC but the one near 59th & Central Park is the better one. The whole interior of the resturant is made over to resemble the characteristics and there is live entertainment everywhere! (212) 541-9505

Hard Rock Cafe is always a great choice. They just relocated to Times Square so you are in the middle of everything. (212) 343-3355

And that is about all I can think of now but if I remember any other great choices I will let you know but definitely check out Jekell & Hyde.

Hard Rock is cool, although we have em' here as well. Want to take em' to a great italian, chinese and maybe a steak house. I 'm going to need some good drinks and wine to deal with the heat and the kids!!!!

    appreciate all the input...

I find that picking good restaurants is critical as you only have soo many dinners in a few days. One bad experiance can have you simmering for days!!!

If you are looking for a nice chic, laid back, overall great steak house, try Dylans in Tribeca. 212-334-4783. Ask for Laura.

Clyde, I would really recommend that you take your kids there one day. I am 21 and still have fun there. Let me know what you think when you go.
