Summer School. Surprised to catch it on tv today since its so old but used to be a fav.
Project X. the first 20 minutes I really wanted to just walk out. Then all of a sudden the party started, very enjoyable turn your mind to zero and just watch some boobies and listen to some awesome dance music.
I am watching Alien Trilogy again to show it to my wife who never saw it. And we both were amazed how good these movies still look today. Alien and Aliens are masterpiece. I got a director's cut or special edition for Aliens and it has much longer footage with some scenes i had never seen before.
Classics! Saw all three in first theatrical release, now have boxed DVD set. The original Hellboy movie? I don't usually care for comic book movies but it was an exception, worth a rewatch. I haven't seen the second one.
I know the "purists" like Alien better but for me Aliens FTW. It is like a nightmare that Ripley just cannot wake up from. Paul Reiser did a fanatstic job as a smarmy bad guy too. So bleak and hopeless for the protagonists, and you feel like you are just a trapped rat right alongside them. OTOH, Alien was enjoyable but moved a little slow and the style seems much more dated than Aliens. Return of the Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back, and Aliens are probably my top 3 sci-fi movies from the 80's.
Which version? 1934, 1964, 1975. 2002? I've read the (translated) novel and I saw the 1998 French miniseries, so the 2002 film seemed pretty lame, by comparison. I've always wanted to read Le Compte de Monte Cristo and Cyrano in the original, but my French isn't really up to it.
"Taken" is showing again tomorrow and I have watched it atleast 10 times within the past year, it's "movie crack" for me!
Since he single-handedly destroys a worldwide syndicate of sex slavemasters in Paris for the annual "let's buy a girl that hasn't been left rotting chained to bed after overdosing" sale, how can they follow that one up? On to recently watched movies. Sat through The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl with my daughter tonight. WTF is this? How do movies get made this badly? Truly one of the strangest and worst movies I have seen in a long time. I don't know if I have ever been drunk/high enough for this POS to make any sense.

Paris, Texas. Slow-moving, but hours after watching it - after letting it sink in - thought it was pretty good; much better opinion of it after-the-fact than when I was actually viewing. Iron Lady. Another slow mover. But damn if I'm not right on the same page as Maggie when it comes to denouncing all the leeches on society.
Maggie Grace is hot And Liam Neeson is on a roll here! Battleship. Just average. Funny at times, but the idea of aliens as robots just didn't go well with me.
