Totally agree! The late great Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber just pushes the original Die Hard over the top for me. I love this exchange (cribbed from IMDB)...

Hans: The following people are to be released from their captors: In Northern Ireland, the seven members of the New Provo Front. In Canada, the five imprisoned leaders of Liberte de Quebec. In Sri Lanka, the nine members of the Asian Dawn movement...

John McClane: [listening on the radio] What the ****?

    Karl: [mouthing silently] Asian Dawn?

Hans: [covers the radio] I read about them in Time magazine.

Reginald Vel Johnson also puts in a strong supporting effort as the police officer...T

I’m dreaming of a Hans Gruber Christmas…just like the ones I use to know…where the Ferraris glisten and the lambos listen…to hear Lussos in the snow…
I’m dreaming of a McClane Christmas…with every mile I drive…May your V12 be merry and bright… and may all your Christmases Die Hard!

    The Last Duel

Historical drama set in medieval France. Nice effort by Ridley Scott, staring Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Ben Affleck.

    Solid 7.5, IMO.

Just watched "Last Night in Soho" - odd but very intriguing and spawned some good conversations afterwards. The filming and transitions between current day London and 1960s London were done really well IMHO and the storyline and associated twists were intriguing and (pleasantly) unpredictable.

    Cheers :)

Wind River (2017). I liked it. Interesting western thriller starring Jeremy Renner. Set in Wyoming (but apparently filmed in Utah). Wind River Valley is a beautiful place.

Just watched "Antlers" last night - Definitely a Del Toro film so if you like his stuff you will like it - if not you won't. I found it slow but he always builds his characters slowly and a lot of open unanswered questions (won't spoil with details) but overall it was intriguing - not really "scary" IMHO but a few jumps here and there.

Seen LOTS worse and seen LOTS better - FWIW - Cheers :)

the gray man on netflix with ryan reynolds and chris evans. got horrendous reviews and i usually dislike this type movie regardless but it was a hoot! crazy cartoon type violence that makes you laugh out loud. extra plus is the movie is self aware at how ridiculous it is. give it a try if want some fun

We watched it last night and liked it a lot.

I didn't think it was any more ridiculous than Bond or MI movies, and every bit as entertaining.

Uncharted-2 hours of a Bond/Indiana Jones/National Treasure wanna be. Not great but not bad for a Sunday evening entertainment action extravaganza

    The Adam Project on Netflix.

I wouldn't have paid theatre prices to see it, but it was good enough for an evening at home.
