My wife wanted to go see the new animated A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. We decided to see it in 3-D. The movie was ok, well done in parts and over-done in parts for the sake of the 3-D they were able to play with. It sticks a little closer with the original book than a lot of the Christmas Carol movies have.

That being said, this was my first experience with the new generation of 3D technology. It is truly amazing. Not at all like the old days where it was a normal movie except for 5 or 6 quick 3-D parts. The entire movie is 3-Dimensional, from the main characters to the buildings to the background textures on walls and trees and such. Some of the scenes where the camera is looking through window panes and some in the snow are incredible. The sensation is that the screen is a box you are looking INTO, and not a flat surface you are looking AT. Kind of like a live play on a stage. I can not wait to see Avatar now.

    Rushmore, not bad, not brilliant.

I like Billy Murray more the older he gets.

Also rented Star Trek, as I never watched the show before, I didn't really know what to expect. It wasn't a bad movie, some great action scenes too.

Do you all remember the "most disturbing movie" thread - Irreversable, stuck it in my queue - Wow - disturbing indeed but interesting.

Last movie I saw was (TV) Kelly's Hero's - love that Don Rickles, Donald Sutherland and Telle' Savalas

    DVD - Definace - 7.5/10

Theatre - Saving Private Ryan - it's been a while

    The Fourth Kind....

Very disturbing. There was an actual footage of a family of 5 murder suicide on tape. Didn't quite expect that.

    two music documentaries:

Shine the Light. Scorsese + Rolling Stones = epic fail? Didn't see that one coming.

Glass: a portrait in 12 parts. very good. by no means a cliffhanger but a great insight into the creative process.

What an absolute stupid and waste of time movie.

    I'm embarrassed for George Clooney.
