My GTO was due to arrive in the port of Newark, NJ yesterday, but FNA just informed that the ship is still in Spain undergoing repairs. That means the 30 plus Ferraris that were to be delivered in 2010, wont be delivered until 2011. That includes my GTO...and others.

Hopefully you can glimps at the BBR-model and go "wroooaaap" with it on the kitchen table ;)

Just bad luck, be sure to do the catching up when she's home safe.

That is very bad news John. I hope repairs will be concluded soon so that the ship can get going with it's precious load.

Did FNA give you an idea of how long the delay will be?

No. They did say that FNA has more than 30 "units" on that ship. Wide World Ferrari has 3 GTO's on board. I assume that the ship will arrive in about a month.

You and me both - just checked via my dealer with FNA, my GTO's also on that boat.

My update "FNA is hoping to have shipment here first week in Jan." I was hoping to have the car down in FL in late Jan possibly for Cavallino, but def for Daytona. Not sure if that's going to work at the moment. Oh well - life's not exactly bad, it will be fun when it does arrive.

Ah yes...they delivered mine that way without me needing to ask--thank you FNA--along with the rest of the first US GTO shipments. Apparently, they wanted a plane load to make it at once and be received prior to Sept 30.

But air or not, the car still had to go through NJ because FNA has made it a policy that GTO's are only inspected/prepped at their NJ facility. Once there and readied, on a special transport to their appointed homes :)

As for air, its an option that would add approx $8k to the regular delivery charges--is it worth it? Only you can decide...

If you're at Daytona say hello as we'll be there with 0846 for the Heritage Exhibit.

BTW your GTO runs very well. There's Utube of the Spanish Dock workers doing doughnuts in it and it drifts very well.

And, I'm sure it'll be loaded and shipped immediately when the boat is repaired...well ok, "manana" but...at least with the engine, tranny and tires well broken in :)

So it's had that treatment twice now? First by the Ferrari test drivers, and then the dock guys.

What's the difference between FNA and WWF? Aren't all cars going through FNA and all coming from WWF?

FNA is Ferrari of North America. They are the official importer of all Ferrari's. FNA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ferrari SpA located in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. WWF is Wide World Ferrari, a dealer in Spring Valley, NY where I happen to buy my cars.

So if FNA imports all cars, how can WWF import 3 GTO's on their own ? Or have I misunderstood something ? :D

Wide World Ferrari has 3 customers' GTO's on the boat. They are a dealer, not the importer. The importer is Ferrari of North America. FNA has a lot of additional GTO's on the same boat.
