California new owner of the new model Ferrari. How long before you put on the rear license plate? Anyone out there also put on the front plate?

Rear, immediately if you plan to drive the car. Front, never - move to a state that doesn't have such requirement or just accept an occasional violation.

Oh well! I hate ticket and I want to drive it. Perhaps maybe I will be the first to install front license plate.

look around there are some temporary plate holders that some people use for the front .. I just go without a front plate but hopefully someone else will let you now about the temporary front plate holders I think they use a hidden mounting of some sort...

Depending on the model, Carbonio likely has a front plate that can be removed and put on in literally 5 seconds. Even I can do it! I have one for my Cali, and it goes in the boot, because I keep forgetting to put it on. [emoji6]

At one time, I think you had 3 months after purchase to put on the rear plate in California. Not sure about today.

So... you, allegedly, buy a $300k car and then announce you'll risk screwing up your bodywork by using zip-ties to mount your front license plate because you're too cheap to purchase a reasonable no-drill solution?

    That's crazy.

Here's a solution from an FChat sponsor for $300:

    You're welcome. ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

When you are born as cheapo, you are forever cheapo. Cheapo forever! :D:D:D JK

So what do you do? Place it on in front of the police after he stops you for no plate? Will that work? Can he still write you a ticket after you have it on?

I sit at home and think about how wonderful it would be to own a 348. :)

I would put the no-drill plate on the car and forget about it unless I was showing the car at an event - at which point, I would quickly be able to remove it for the display.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Thanks Andrew for stepping in and mentioning our No-Drill plate mount. It is offered as an alternative option to the offset tow hook, zip ties, double sided tapes and bumper screws of the world that have thus far been a cause of debate, and reasons why we risk driving without a front plate. Carbonio has a bracket for almost every Ferrari from 1948 - present, that is a true quick on/off solution with sturdy central mounting and does not leave any trace of its presence.
