Don't be a schmuck, take that Arab money and order up a design for P4/6. Its a win for you and all America...
Yes and prior to the availability of Leatherique, it makes me feel queezy. I've seen Evil and his son Robbie in action. It aint a pretty sight!!!!!
No sure if everyone has seen this yet, looks like word has gotten out about the 275. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/ferrari-275-gtb-found-in-garage-2011-07-13 Tom S. good find! I can't wait to see the car in person.
I find it humorous that the Top Gear article mentions "stumbled upon". Some how I doubt that's how these things happen. While Tom never shares his secrets (rightly so!), I would bet that he (and maybe others) knew of this car for quite some time. It probably required patience and crafting the perfect deal at the right time to bring it out of hiding. What a great find! Glad she's finally out of hiding.
This sounds closer to the truth, funny how "barn finds " fetch more money these days. I am not so sure it's a good thing that the car is in the public. I can see some rich cat buying it and putting a fresh coat of resale red on it. IMO it sounds like a PR stunt?
It looks like the original paint. I spoke to the owner last year and seem to recall him saying he has owned the car for 40+ years.
Now, what if the SR family doubled there offer. I don't know the most ever paid for a car but I would venture a guess it would be some where in the mid-20 million range? E.g., for one of those pretty P4s you have? I wonder. Perhaps a person might think it only cost what, $4 or $5 mil to build. One could make a $20 million net profit after having enjoyed the P4/5 for a few years and donate $25 million to a worthy charity? They say it costs just $0.20-25 cents a day to feed a child (www.WFP.org https://www.wfp.org/donate/fillthecup?icn=homepage-donate-cup&ici=big-button-link) or ([ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh90jte9TB4[/ame]) Now, assume they didn't double their offer but instead offered just $25 million. That would still leave a lot of money for profit ($20 million give or take), the joy of having owned and driven the car for years and would still afford the opportunity to make a seriously impactful contribution to society. Without being too philosophical, absent personal items of personal significance, perhaps everything should be available for a price. Just a thought. Here's my suggestion. Tell the SRF you will sell them the car if they double their offer and that the proceeds from that offer overage will go to charity. The Ferrari deal will make world headlines and the SRF will benefit from the generous "donation"
I must have missed this earlier, what an incredible car. Equally as impressive as Mark's restoration thread.
Who is this newbie punk Shaughnessy? Gawd, he is embarrassing. Can't he at least wash the damn car? I'm surprised Ferrari doesn't sue him. Dale
