Le Cirque just awarded Forbes 5 Star rating. Quite an honor.
Hi Tom. We were just too tired to go out of the hotel...it was our last night and we had a lot of really late nights. There's always a line...if you're not noir level you can't jump the queue. No reservations. Very welcoming and friendly service, always a smile. Tables are close in and it's not fancy. Janet and I had the prix fixe so our experience is just 6 dishes, 4 were very good , one OK, one loser. Service is fast despite the crowds. This is not fine dining but certainly agreeable. We had planned to go to the Dragon to check it out but didn't. Will be back out first week of April.
^ Thanks, Keith, for the detailed review. Maybe I'll stop by for lunch without the missus (she hates waiting on line!) the next time we're there...T
Not a dinning out question, but after reading through most of the posts I did get some great ideas on where to celebrate my 60th. My question is related to other activities. I better be more specific, driving related activities. I want to do some track time while in LV and am looking at Dream Racing and Exotics Racing. I have some track experience, and have completed the Precision, Performance and Masters courses with Porsche Driving School, and will be participating in the Corsa Pilota Advanced Course the weekend before heading to LV. I want to focus on more high performance driving and continue sharping my skills. Not interested in just driving a bunch of exotics around the track. Please share any experiences you may have had with either company listed above. Any other thoughts/suggestions are welcomed. If there is another thread specific to this topic, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
This might be your ticket. I've not been there but it's pretty well known and the track is used a lot for testing of new cars for journalists. https://www.springmountainmotorsports.com/ The two you mention are really for the tourists to say they drove an exotic.
Yup, I've tracked Spring Mountain many a time and I dare say with its expansions, it may be the best track in the U.S. It is a private members track but there are lots of events that host there. If you can get on, it's definitely worth it! I believe there is also a Corvette school there (used to be a Lotus school there). Sent from my 16M
I tracked out there about a month ago. Amazing facility and what they have planned for it is second to none. Already build $1M+ homes along track and ultimately have own water system and public safety dept. Great place.
No, but I’ve heard really good things and the food looks great. If you go, let me know how it is please.
HOLY COW. It's been ages for this thread. Thought I'd give it a boost. Would appreciate hearing from you...recent experiences, any price point / cuisine. Thanks, Keith
Headed out for next few days for a business meeting with vendor and gf has a trade show it's been a few years since my last visit. Does anybody have any recent experiences at jean george and momufuku? Was planning on hitting both of those up along with bouchon and gordon ramseys burger place.
Hi Nick. If you go to Bouchon, please post your experience. That place runs hot and cold...was back on its game last time I was there. Ramsey's burger? Prepare to be underwhelmed.
Bouchon was def on its A game. Really great experience from the food to the waitstaff to the sommelier. After seeing where ramseys burger was we gave it a miss. I don't think I'm the demographic for there and looked like i'd be very underwhelmed with the food and overwhelmed with the price. Momofuku was in our hotel and amazing with incredible food and cocktails. Serious A game there. I couldn't get enough of the food or the blackberry milk punch which is perhaps one of the best cocktails i've ever had. Milk bar next door to it also has great ice cream/desserts and was my morning go to spot for drinkable cold brew coffee. All conveniently located next to the juice spot which is the best juice bar in vegas for cold pressed unprocessed green juice in the mornings. Jean Georges steakhouse was a massive disappointment and the food was total ****. They absolutely refused to swap out one item on the tasting menu due to a shellfish allergy so ended up going with wagyu and kobe which were both overcooked leathery garbage. Total **** service and **** food with a huge bill. I'm not sure i'll ever return to a jean george restaurant after that meal.
Thank you Nick and sorry about the experience at J-G. I don't recall ever dining there...sorry I couldn't help.
When they first opened my wife just had to try it, we have never been back nor will we. They feature expensive burgers that aren't expensive tasting. You pay for a name nothing more.
Out of all the steak places in Vegas, I really don't think I can recall anyone ever recommending Jean George.
Joker...now that I think about it, the same with me. I have had two meals at J.G.V's Prime in Bellagio and can't imagine booking back in there, either. Anybody been to Bardot Brasserie?
It's very surprising as Jean George is an incredible chef and Jean Georges in NYC is a really incredible restaurant. He does some very unique and outstanding flavor profiles. I'm just shocked how horrible it was and that so much potential was wasted. Of course with the primary customer base being tourists who really cares, all you need to do is hook people for one visit then they'll be gone and the next batch will arrive the next day so don't need to be good, successful, or consistent.
Mandalay Bay is having outdoor Vegas Golden Knights events by the pool on big screen TV's throughout the playoffs
That's too bad. The last time we were in Vegas, the line was (literally) out the door and down the hall...T
any local info / experiences for Le Thai on Fremont? Thinking of dining there couple of weeks. Thanks, keith
I haven't been to Le Thai, but I go to its sister restaurant, Le Pho, pretty regularly for lunch. Le Pho is great and I understand people like Le Thai as well. The owner is a local personal injury lawyer, if that matters.
