Hi, Can someone enlighten me as to what the "hoop" is? Thanks! Regards, Felix P.S.: Can't wait to see more built pics!
So what parts from the wrecked Enzo (if any) will be included in this build? Will it be considered a 2003 car or titled as a 2009?
It would appear that practically no parts are carried over - but if the VIN stays the same (and based on the significance of the car to its owner, I assume it will) then it will be titled as a 2003 model.
Twin turbos? 1000hp? Look out!!!! I wonder how that would affect the car's dynamics. The Enzo is known to be friendly only up to a point with the T/C and S/C off from what I've read, all that extra power would probably make for a very intense drive.
What company is TT'ing an Enzo? Now if you said twin supercharged from Novitec, that I would completely understand because they have already been doing this on the 599 which I believe is a derivative of the Enzo engine....
I think he's referring to the windshield frame (A-pillar) shown in the first wreck photo. It is my understanding that when a roof is damaged on a car to this extent it cannot be registered without a lot of trouble...
Looking forward to seeing how this project turns out! Seems like a lot of work is going into the engine, I'm sure other components will be looked at as well considering a large amount of power will be added on. Anyone think it will be done before the end of the year?
So funny I find this thread as I was just wondering what was going on with the MM Enzo the other day. Thanks for the update.
i remember reading about his enzo... shame he lost it but more power to him for building it back up and if it does have 1000 hp, damn!
This indeed is a special time simply due to the fact that out of how many ruined Enzos, this particular example is being redone with the story behind it. The story here is the important part... The engine though, I'm curious, will it be out of a 612 or supplied by the factory spec for spec? The forced induction as well is a very interesting thing to be doing to a car that without would have the story to be "known" in the exotics community. As it already is. Not that I am against a twin turbo in any way - this will be SOME car indeed. Novitec has done some supercharging work thus far I believe however I do not know of anything as far as twin turboing on an Enzo...... I am curious as to if anybody in "the know" could give further details regarding any other modification that will be done to the car either aesthetically or mechanically. _J
It would seem strange to use the 612 motor given that it's an evolution fo the 456/550/575 powerplant. More likely than not they got another enzo motor, or at the very least used a 599 block (same block, though top end is different)
I was always under the impression that the Scaglietti's engine was the same used in the Enzo. Not bit for bit of course but I remember reading magazines using that as a means to sell the 612 to an uncertian public. _J
That is incorrect. The 612 has the last iteration of the 456 motor. The Enzo motor was all new, and subsequently used in the 599.
Add me to the list of people who don't understand the 1000hp. Didn't Richard already demonstrate (in dramatic fashion) the sufficiency of the power in a stock Enzo? Arguably the incident occurred as a result of road conditions, not an overpowered car/underexperienced driver, but it seems that the road will always be the limiting factor when it comes to getting the most performance out of ANY Enzo. To each their own, and I guess this will just make it more unique (Hopefully he installs the chopped doors again!). Peter
Thank you. Its great to see Richard will have another twin-turbo Ferrari Supercar besides the 288. Also, its great to note what resources & talent exists right here in the USA...
Cool story, except im pretty sure the paramedics didn't give a flying f**k about what they did to the car. And rightly so.
My man Dan, right as always. The 599's engine, Type F140C, is an evolution of the Enzo, Type F140B. The 2+2s... 456: F116B 456M GTA: F116 C / 456M GT: F116 CL 612 Scaglietti: F133F
Agreed. In its state they might have had no idea it was anything special, nor would that have affected their actions...
