I was told that the original idea being thrown around was to extend the wheelbase by 12 inches but that was scrapped for obvious reasons. My understanding is that the appearance will be fairly close to stock.

Extending the wheelbase isn't hard to do with this tub. Ferrari did it quite simply with very good results and came up with the MC 12.

How much longer is the MC12? The guys at the dealership gave me the impression that it would be harder to accomplish with local resources.

The wheelbase is 150MM longer, 2800MM vs 2650MM.

I have some questions about the motor. First off is it going to be built? Whats the Compression ratio on one of these cars. What are the connecting rods made out of and what size are they? What mm turbos are you guys going with? If you would lower the compressionvia pistons this could greatly improve your ability to run more boost and not only that more boost on pump gas as well.

In post 47 they said they will rebuild it using the original block.

I don't think they've disclosed what size turbos etc yet...

    Very interesting thread.

Was NA power considered at all (looking at the FXX, 800+ hp)? would be a bit more predictable than going twin turbo...

I think twin 62mm's would be a very nice setup, this is what heffner uses on the twin turbo Gallardo's they support roughely 1200hp. Quick spool and good hp would be a strong point of this setup, but twin 67mm's wouldnt be a bad setup either a little more lag but more hp. Im really anxious to see what they do with the motor, fuel system, and just basically the car as a whole.

    Somewhere
and a whole lot less reliable more than likely. The regular enzo engine is already high-strung/finicky.

I'm wondering how they are going to put the power to the ground, and if the transmission will support the power. :)

    I agree...!

Also, I got to see the MM Enzo and meet its legendary pilot. Richard was only too happy to let a dying boy take a seat in this iconic car.

The regular Enzo is neither high-strung or finicky. An Enzo will sit until it runs out of gas at idle on a 100 degree day with the AC on. In 6K miles from Paris rush hour traffic to 800 miles of the Targa Florio to 200 MPH on Banking I've never had any engine issues at all. None.

I would rock that hard - and I would be the man.

That is so awesome to know...! I'm following this whole thing with great interest. I think 131320 is my favorite red Enzo, and carries with it ones of the greatest stories any Enzo has thus far told.

its only a tad over 100hp/litre. The engine isn't really pushing its limits since it has to comply with all sorts of stupid environment tests world wide.

You'll be surprised how far you'll go with a complete ITB setup (1 throttle body per cilinder), a full exhaust and some fiddling with the ECU.
