does anyone have the latest software upgrade for the "command" system on the ML55, its for the sat nav and i cant see why its worth 400.00, so if its available online or someone wants to split it up and i burn a CD doesnt matter.

question is WHY do you have to upgrade?

i analyse the new GIS datasets every couple of months, and usually it's not werth the time it takes me to update all our systems because all that's changed is there have been some stinky backroads added in some bogan suburb that nobody cares about.

if you need to frequently travel around northfield and trott park then i reccommend an update, otherwise data from 5-6 years ago is just fine.

the version i'm running now is 4 years old and things like the Westgate bridge, opera house, ayres rock, gold coast, morphett st bridge, entire suburb of fremantle seem to be not on there, we sure have built a few things in 4 years, hell we may even be able to get the werld cup in 2218.

but yes u are right, but its nice to have the current edition

I think the CD in the Porker will do the job. They all use the same maps. My MB one is for DVD nav so will not be compatible.

Goober, I fear you may be stuck. As SS says, the MB satnav is now DVD and I doubt another brand's CD will work. Most nav is now DVD based so anything on CD is probably old maps anyway. The CD versions are very light on for data outside main cities.

BTW, I just upgraded the DVD this month in the E500 and it is a big improvement over even 18months ago. I has several times as many streets as the original DVD including most country towns in Australia with every street charted.

    performance wise?

pretty quick, had it chipped cos i wanted to have the kids snot go to the back of their throats when i take off, but when we go to thredbo its a dream cos we get 680km out of a tank full 80 litres. It sucks in the mountains i think 10 litres to the km

Interesting as in my wifes ML320 which has the Command System (assume its the same as the ML55's)) the SatNav CD is also a Whereis product from sensis not a MB one.

Mmmm.... That would make a good support vehicle for a desert run somewhere.

Of course if a bloke also had a Quattroporte in the shed, he'd probably want to bring that along instead. ;)

good support vehicle in the desert, i offered it to a certain ferrari greasemonkey last year and all he could say what a POS it would be and that he would only drive a 4.8is Bimmer. So in offering it again i'd say he can p!ss in the gutter and swim.

might make that the 11th commandment.

thou shalt drive whats been offered otherwise shut the Foik up.

and the QP belongs to the better half, she would shoot me if i drove up there

it can cruise at 250 and get from 0-200 almost as quick as the rest of them. just stay well back for when you need to throw out the anchors...

it's PERFECT testarossa territory out there, long sweepers and smooth straights....
