couple things wrong what Bernie has professed: 1. the word CERTAIN - surely FOTA won't be dumb enough to take anything with the word "certain" at face value 2. he says he has no doubt in his mind that Max will do what he says and didn't he strong hint at running again in October and a year ago Bernie said if he stays until 2009 he'll run again Carol * * * * * * f1 live Bernie Ecclestone on Friday said he is certain Max Mosley will step down as FIA president in October. As part of the Formula One Teams' Association peace deal, Mosley pledged not to contest another election, but he was subsequently angered by the reaction of the breakaway group and said he was reconsidering his options. "He said his options are open but he didn't say what they were going to be, did he?" Ecclestone, the F1 chief executive, said in a new interview for the Times. He explained that Mosley's threat to do a u-turn on his promised resignation was because he was ‘a bit upset’ with Luca di Montezemolo's public reaction to his impending exit. "I have no doubt in my mind," he claimed. "As long as I've known Max, he's always done what he said he would do." The 78-year-old was speaking amid rumours the FOTA teams and the owners of F1's commercial rights, CVC, have sidelined him in their latest negotiations over a new Concorde Agreement. Late on Friday, Britain's Guardian newspaper said in a headline: ‘Formula one teams bypass discredited Ecclestone to seek 2010 resolution’. Just over 12 months ago, Ecclestone was saying something very different regarding the FIA President amid a separate scandal. “If he stays until 2009, he’ll run again,” Ecclestone told the very same publication. “I am 100 percent certain of that – no one million percent certain.” In the Guardian it's reported that FOTA has bypassed Ecclestone and gone directly to CVC.
Senile dementia? Remember what you had for breakfast? (This from someone who *likes* dictators.) --- Just tell Max that "dictator" is a nazi hooker snack.
Ecclestone given ultimatum over new championship The weather here at the Nurburgring was cold and bleak yesterday rather like the sport's current state as the war between the sport's governing body, the FIA and the Formula One Teams Association reached another critical moment. Fota have given Bernie Ecclestone and CVC Capital Partners, the holders of the sport's commercial rights, until this weekend to indicate their willingness to go along with their proposed breakaway grand prix championship, unless things can be sorted out for all three parties to agree a lasting peace with the FIA. Fota do not want to wait any longer to start up their series, if talks with the FIA remain at their current impasse. unconfirmed reports suggest that Fota have given FIA president Max Mosley a letter of resignation to sign, again with a deadline of this weekend. All of Fota's manufacturer teams have confirmed their belief that they had been granted unconditional entries to the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship following the agreement ratified by the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on 24 June. And that, contrary to the FIA's recent suggestion that they fully expected to have the right to express opinions in Wednesday's Technical Working Group meeting. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/motor-racing/ecclestone-given-ultimatum-over-new-championship-1741782.html
In the interest of ending the suffering... while Mad Max's Führ-, I mean, Father lived to be 84, and his Grandführe- I mean, Grandfather lived to be 54, any idea of what Ecclestone's family's life expectancy is?
What do I care? Have a roast slow cooking in the Weber. Mates coming over for poker, food and old F1 videos. Going to start with Michael's first win, then some of Gilles V's best.
Frankly the drama crap is far from being old now. The FOTA needs to **** or get off the pot. Breakaway or shut up and deal with it. Either way F1 is hurting itself more and more every day this crap is not dealt with.
