As the other, significantly hijacked thread I started Tuesday suggested, I had some unscheduled maintenance this week. None of it serious, and in short I have to say all of it was handled with nothing but the best of friendliness and professionalism by Justin and all the guys at Wide World.

The "Bruce Wellington syndrome" coolant leak was fixed and I give kudos to Jim at Wide World for catching it before I even knew it was happening, and preventing what might have been a serious problem had it not been caught.

The thing I actually took the car in for was an unsteady and unusual reading on the oil pressure when I drove last weekend. Diagnosis was an overactive oil pressure sending unit causing the gauge to read erroneously (no actual high pressure situation existed). Unit replaced and at least on my drive back readings seemed to be normal again.

Finally I took this opportunity to have my clutch replaced as after 35,000 miles on the original, it was getting on the worn side and I had been experiencing some slippage. With very little notice they got the parts in and did the job on Wednesday-Thursday and even gave me a great price on it as well (basically at least as good as the winter discount even though that would ordinarily have ended March 1 and their shop is getting quite busy).

So, all this was just good but what made me really feel well looked after were frequent updates from Justin on status and whether he'd be able to get it done early so I could come pick it up when I wanted to. Also noting that when I took the car up Tuesday I really didn't expect to be leaving it, I was impressed that without skipping a beat Justin found someone to drive me all the way back into the city so that I wouldn't be stranded. And even though I was pushing a little for a quick turnaround, they still found time to give the car, which I brought in very dirty, a nice cleaning so she sparkled with happiness when I came to pick her up.

So, I've got to say, given especially that none of this was even scheduled in advance, I'm very pleased with how Wide World was able to serve me as we move into what's usually a busy season.

Bruce--Jim is a technician in the shop at Wide World. He is absolutely terrific.

    Geoff--

Glad to hear about your experience.

The icing has already been put on the cake for me about Wide World, but it's nice to keep hearing great stories about them. I've referred many people to them and I'll continue to do so. They've already done great work on my Dad's 360 and as soon as something on my 348 breaks, they'll be getting my business.

Thumbs up to Justin, Jim, and the team at Wide World service :)

Sounds great Geoff, but you left out key issues that we all want to know:

    Was it your birthday?
Was it sunny and did you get a tan?
Do they pick up and deliver dry cleaning?
Do they serve lunch, or must you be with Emil to get that?
Is it a fun little place?

    We want to know.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting the name right... somewhat older guy than most in the service dept, dark hair, taller than most... not sure how else to describe. He's the one who did the road test/diagnosis Tuesday. It's possible I'm getting his name wrong...

FwErRF, BrUcE! Kevin is great - I spent some time with him last time I was there esp. since Justin was on vacation then. I think he is a service manager with Justin now. Whenever I don't understand exactly what's the matter, he is outstanding at explaining it, and usually has a picture from the technical manuals to illustrate it for me. Never seen anyone do a better job of educating the customer about their car along the way than Kevin.

Glad to hear all went well and that you and your car have been reunited. It's nice to read some positive comments about a dealership on here.

My .03 cents, Kevin and Justin both cool guys. Justin who I worked with closely on my recent acquisition from the EC was THE BEST in all aspects of his job compared to others who shall remain nameless. So good in fact I might have to ship all my service back to WWoC in the EC during the winter months so I can get that snow discount and priceless attention to detail.
