"The Ferrari team was providing a superlative performance. Why did they want to ruin this way what would have been a perfect victory? Fernando has talked such nonsense that I've never heard before. He has shown he has no character."

I most already knew this about Alonso.

    He's completely right.

If he didn't celebrate his victory at all, and didn't smile or anything, it would have shown that he does have character...Yesterday he just proved that he remains ******.

I'm looking forward to the day he'll be leaving. I won't root for him again, not even going to think about it.

I'm also looking forward the day Domenicalli is kicked out of the team, hopefully very soon.

Funny, I don't remember Lauda complaining when Schumacher had Ruebens pull over...

    Must be an "Austrian" thing..

at least Schumacher put Barrichello on the top step of the podium. He wasn't proud of that 'win'.

If Alonso did that today, the fine would be enormous. It's the idiotic RULES that force them to do what they do.

Get rid of "no team orders" and Massa doesn't have to sit there and LIE in front of the cameras.

Post the truth by Alonso or Domencalli. Post it.

They haven't said 1 word that is truthful. Felipe at least said he did it for the team. Not himself.

The word LIE....does not belong in a sentence mentioning Felipe Massa. Ever.

That would be slightly rubbing it in Massa's face don't you think? In fact I'm surprised he didn't do that lol.

Geez.. calm down. So, what would you call Massa's statement "there are no team orders"? The truth? It was embarrassing to see him squirm in trying to answer the questions in the post race interview. Get rid of the idiot rule and he can tell the truth -- that he didn't like it and didn't agree with it.

    http://www.planetf1.com/news/18227/6279596/Massa-We-don-t-have-team-orders

"You are professional as well, you work for a company. I believe you are doing what you have to do, so I'm professional and I showed how professional I am. That's it."

Massa added: "For sure, you always want to win. That's always what we're working for.

"We don't have team orders, so you just need to do the race that you can and if you cannot do that you need to think about the team.

"I think that's the most important thing."

I dont quite get it... Massa did not have to pull over... they did not categorically state - pull over and let Alonso go thru or else you are fired... the facts are that Alonso has won one race, leads Massa on points, so its makes perfect sense.

Was the team at fault? I really dont think so. No team orders bs.. is crazy and ultimatley hard to enforce.

i know what it looks like, but really is this the end of the world?

Lauda had team orders him self... back with Ferrari and McLaren...

Even more to the point... Enzo would be very proud. Both cars came in 1 and 2, their leading driver picked up the maximum points, and he COULD CARE LESS what the drivers think about it.

There is a HUGE difference between MS back then and Alonso now. MS came to the team to rebuild Ferrari. Alonso came in hopes of riding the coatails of a good car to another WDC. MS was actively being sought after by Ferrari, the opposite with Alonso. MS and the team he brought along together with Ferrari knew what had to be done and agreed to Mikes terms. He came with stipulations and it was all in his contract. Considering what he wanted to do and eventually did for Ferrari, I think Ferrari came out on the winning end as well as MS. Also there was no way any of Mikes teamates could ever beat him and they knew it as well as signing a contract that said just that. On the other hand Alonso cant clearly beat Massa every day and it has not been very clear if Alonso is #1 untill just the other day. As for Lauda. Well its hard to take anything he says seriously because he shoots his mouth off all the time and some of the things he says dont make a whole lot of sense.

The only "huge" difference is that one driver is from Germany and the other is from Spain. Lauda has "selective memory" syndrone.

It's called "wanting to win the title" -- there's been no differnence between "back then" and now on that point.

I respect Lauda way more than any of these young guys racing... I would bet that a fair percentage on this board dont remember much about Lauda when he was racing.... he is way more competitive and calculating than almost anyone except for Schumacher!

With all due respect, the man has no more grounds to make comments on Alonso's character than I do. Does he know him personally? Stay on the sidelines, Niki...

I dunno, but MS had the b*lls and credibility to actually address that in the post race conference. He admitted the use of team orders.

Unlike Alonso, who tried his best to cover things up by going that 'we're professional bla bla bla....'

I genuinely hope Massa does a similar start at the Hungarian GP, like how he did back in 2008, only this time to Alonso.
