good stuff rick .... we could meet say 7/8 pm at woolley edge services (j38/39 M1) or even woodall services (j30/31 M1) at 7:30/8:30 ish .... the latter is probably best for simon from the west, and the wise man from the east ("tubs" wants to go, but he's being very coy).
will your mate have room for our tent ?
i will book IOM ferry now for wed morning..... forgot marky was going (sorry mark) .... will you have the new car ?
Lee is travelling with me and we will probably stay in hotel with yourselves (unless your in the travelodge !)
Anyone heard from scholesy (sorry dave, hope you do't mind the monica) ?
sorry for the impatience, but i like to get all my litle ducks in a row, so to speak.
    cheers, d
ps .... how long, stewart ?

Guys, just had a meeting with my PR firm in London. They do the PR for Tom Tom radar detectors, they have a new model coming out in 4 weeks and i said that we had this trip to Le Mans . Basically they will give us a few brand new Tom Tom's to use on our trip to Le Mans if we will give them our feedback on the product !

    What do you think ?

Radar detectors are a big no no in France - they are totally illegal. If you are caught with one in your car then your can be impounded and you thrown in jail.

I suggest you dont take them to LeMans!

When I say in your car - it could be in the boot disconnected - it is still highly illegal!

I'll post on SImon's behalf (seen as he's probably sunnying himself in Monte Carlo at this moment in time and we're going down in his car !!) - I'm sure he wouldn't mind testing one.

Are they actually radar detectors or just a database of speed cameras??? I wouldnt think TomTom would launch a new product which is being made illegal to use in the very near future.

I use TomTom Navigator with my PDA and its fully legal as its locating speed camera's via a database and not radar.

Ok guys, just to confirm that i am now booked in and paid up for the ferry and the VIP caming with airtrack, which is good news seeing as though i left it so late. My friend Nick is coming with me, he was at the Lambo day at Millbrook for those who were there last year.

Heading down from Yorks on the evening of the 15th to Central London.
On the 2.45 ferry on the 16th and then straight down to the campsite in Le Mans. Heading back on the 10.30am ferry on the Monday 20th, which i believe you guys are all booked on. So sorted, couple of questions,

    1) Do airtrack send out details of where the campsite is etc ?
    2) Who is taking a tent with them and who has done theirs through airtrack. Im thinking of renting one, with limited space in the 360 for 2 people and bags, beer etc to get in, might be worth it, especially if its set up when we arrive, im crap with tents.

Look forward to it guys !

    good stuff, chris
    i) airtrack send out details aprox two weeks before..... this will include a pass for the windscreen, allowing acces to the campsite which is within the circuit..... the campsite is near "Karting Nord"
ii) lee has a tent, therefore we are taking our own ... i think for £55 you are able to hire a two man tent via airtrack.

apparently, airtrack do not provide grandstand seats within the package .... these seats are, just about, sold out.
    regards, david
