Don't forget your new E111's form from the PO.

Who mentioned they could get press passes for the pits etc ?

Health insurance form from the NHS - entitles you to cheap medical care within the EEC. Apparently travel insurance companies ask you to use it as it reduces their cost.

Friday afternoon/evening in the village sounds good.
Would anyone care to collate a directory of mobile numbers (of those willing to supply) and then pm the list on to those travelling ?
I particularly would benefit from a fairly leisurely chat with you, at some stage mal, re the possible aquisition of a 246 "sister" for Gina.
    cheers, d

I thought the original plan was to meet with the cars near Indianapolis / Arnage on Friday morning, near where the Pistonheads group meet and then meet in the town centre at the time of the parade - I would not be taking the Dino into the town, so would get a lift or take the shuttle bus. Stewart was meeting his group this week, so perhaps he already has got a plan.

    Hi Mal,

I thought the cafe where we met in Arnage last year was good, So why not try some of the same again this year. For those who want to we can get down to arnage/indianappolis either before or after for a burnnnnnnnnnnnnnn out.

As per one of my previous replys, our group are still intending to be at the drivers parade on Friday night and afterwards at the Irish bar (I think its Mulligans) for tea and scones. If you look at my previous replys you will see directions.

My Mobile no is 07767 892892

    Regards

    Stewart

As the track is closed on friday, the roads revert to normal use LOL. This means that the strech of track from Tetra Rouge (Mulsanne) round to Arnarge is open for all to use.

Now, a word or two of Caution. Becouse these are public roads and as it is the day before the race, it has adopted the name Mad Friday. This is becouse everyone and his brother want to race there car down this strech. At the same time plod are determined to releave you of your hard earned cash.

I usually try and beat the crowds by getting down there at about 8.30/9.00. the reason for this is simple. The crowds wont have gathered by then so you can get some good speed going and also plod will still be in small numbers.

As far as plod is concerned, no matter what time you get there. They will be at Tetra Rouge and they will be at Arnarge and approaching the Porsche curves so be carefull.

I promise you this, there is no other feeling than that which you feel when you have had a good blast down Mulsanne and had your car up on the curves at Indianapolis/Arnarge.

When it starts to get busy and plod arrive we normally park-up on the grass at the approach to Indianapolis. Talk bull**** for an hour and then go into Arnarge village for brunch.

If you get the Autosport Le Mans guide of today, on page 4/5 you will find a map of the track. You will see a red spectator area highlighted at Indianapolis. We normaly park on the grass on the right hand side as you are aproaching from Mulsanne just before the red area.

Dave i will have my mobile with me, so if you want to call on the Friday morning or indeed any other time during the procedings, please do not hesitate.

Went in 1984 and one of the gang's company was part sponsering a car. So, after the race we went in convoy (3) under the track to the pits to join in the celebrations. Missed a turn and ended up in front of the grandstands, on the track. This about 3.30. Backed up and did Le Mans start flagged off by elderly frenchie with a broom!

Managed to do two full laps before turning sharp right onto the straight and....they had opened the road and two trucks were heading our way. Brown trousers and all that but have fantastic shots through the screen of the old dunlop bridge, grandstands and the cafe halfway along the straight. Brilliant unexpected adventure, never to be repeated I'm sure!

Came back grinning from ear to ear, not noticing two slicks on the rear of the car, but then thats anotehr story.
