    Hi everyone, :)

Is anyone planning on going to Le Mans 2006???
If so, then perhaps we could arrange to meet somewhere arround the circuit, since Tina and I will be present at Circuit de la Sarthe the whole week up to the race, and of course during the race!
I will at some point during the week be handing over two new drawings personally to Tom Kristensen!
Both Tina and I would love to meet with any Fchatters present during the week or during the weekend, so if you're going, please let us know, and let's find some place to meet down there!

    Best regards

    Carsten

I'll be heading over shortly. Arriving in Paris on the 8th, then to the track to catch some qualifying practice sessions.

    Carsten,

John and I are going but it will be a short weekend this year at LeMans for us. We arrive at CDG on Friday am from Waco, TX. Have TGV tkts for early Saturday am from CDG to LeMans and return to CDG later Sunday evening. We will be at the circuit from arrival Sat. am until departure Sun. evening. Our seats are in T-19; 5 -C-95 & 96 (section next to ACO) but we probably won't be there except for start/finish and a nap time if necessary. We catch a bus at 2100 to Arnage,Indianapolis & Mulsanne Corners returning back to start at 0030 hrs. Except for the jaunt to the corners, we are pretty flexible. It's not impossible that we might come to LeMans Friday after our arrival - unless we decide to be "tourists" in Paris. We are already planning on staying for a few more days in '07 as it will be the 75th running of LeMans.

You can always be a tourist in Paris, but every LeMans is different. TGV makes the trip easy. Spend all the days at LeMans!!

Sooo true...... Paris remains more or less the same, but Le Mans is new every year although it's a classic event! :)
Tina and I will spend all the week at Le Mans.....

Train sked for us on Friday after arrival is not condusive to getting to LeMans and back and spending enough time there to justify the cost of ticket. That's not to say we can't have a change of mind. Looked at changing tickets to go a day or two earlier but that was a very definite "you've got to be kidding" on the airfare increase and $200/tkt change fee (we purchased our tickets last summer). So next year we plan to spend a few more days.

I am sooo ready to go now, :) Both of the drawings I have to deliver for Tom Kristensen this year are now ready and framed, and I can't wait to go to Le Mans! :)
Will be very nice to meet up with as many of you as possible, and I really hope you will all try and contact me during your stay at the event!

Looking forward to meet all of you down there!

So what did everyone think of Le Mans?
I arrived there the monday before the race, and got to see plenty. Stayed at the Hotel Galaxie across the street from the Gare. Nice litle place.
The museum by the circuit was great, and had many more cars than i expected. It was also interesting to see LeMans cars from 50 years ago being driven to the race, with many people coming from pretty far.
Aston had a nice hospitality area as always, and had parts of the cars for us to check out. With the hot weather, it was a treat to have a shaded area to relax with good food.
I'm still travelling around Europe so i haven't had a chance to post pics. I'll try to get some up when i get home.

I would say that because we already have tickets booked for the same stand and same seats and the bus excursion to Arnage/Mulsane that we enjoyed it enough to return. Hopefully we will get into a hotel in LeMans on Friday night and not be commuting again via TGV back to CDG and the Sheraton and miss the driver's parade. It's workable situation even with the TGV leaving at 20.03. Next year's start should go back to the original 4 pm instead of 5 pm.

We arrived Friday morning at CDG and left Monday morning - it was a great way to spend a weekend.

    Carol
