I would have to re-listen to the podcast, but I think it had to do with seeing the series as competing products. On this topic, I have often wondered why GM has no interest in selling their racing cars. The Cadillac GT3s were never available to customers, Corvette GTE, Cadillac DPi, etc... SO many other companies use this as a profit center.
About 8 hours to go...Alonso car now in the lead after both Toyota's have their pit stops... So far all three drivers have done a bit over 5 hours each. Alonso drove very well in the dark. If they can stay out of trouble it's game over... Image Unavailable, Please Login

FIA/ACO favoritism Porsche, the BOP first and then there is no penalty in the race for Makowieczki. Pathetic.
Can't believe they didn't penalize the #8 Toyota for spinning its wheels while still on the jacks. If it was anyone other than Toyota it would be a drive through.
Once again, American sports car racing fans are treated like virtual red-headed step children as the subscription-based live streaming that has been offered by FIA/WEC/ACO is now geo blocked into the U.S. and Canada. It sure would have been nice if they told us this before purchasing the subscription for $12.00. I have been demanding a refund since learning about this geo-block and they're sending me messages about Terms of Use, all this, as if I have time to take an hour to read it all. https://jalopnik.com/watching-le-mans-in-america-is-still-an-impossible-anno-1826889711 BHW
last year it was ford who got benefit from FIa.. this year porsche.. ( they are also sponsors.. this year porsche supplies the safety cars).. ferraris are handicapped by having.. less power. more weight added, less power boost, less fuel capacity, less aerodynamic efficiency.. etc..etc. despite these obstacles they were able to win everything last year, but this year the 488evo is penalized even more.. in f1 mercedes get advantages.. tv cameras follow them most of the time.. in past it was mclaren-mercedes..thanks to Mobil.. nepotism exists in motorsport
Well... kind of a hollow victory for Alonso. They really only raced against one car that was their own teammate. From about 8 hours in when they had a 10 lap lead the team cruised.
Exactly my point. There was no competition. It's like winning a marathon when there are only 2 people on the same team in the event. Was it a competition or only an exhibition? Let's say this was an F1 race and it was only Alonso in a Mercedes against Stroll in the Williams and no one else. Yes, you won. But it's kind of a hollow victory like when Ferrari won at Indy with only 6 cars in the event.
