Need to get our tickets for Le Mans when they become available very soon. I know an entrance ticket is necessary even with a grandstand seat. Has anyone had seats in either Tribune 19, 20 or 21? All three Tribunes are 93 Euro and have giant screens. Since we plan on being at the track very early Saturday morning (warm-up is from 9:00-9:45 am) and not taking the train back to CDG until after the race Sunday evening, I thought it might be nice to have a "seat" to call home after sitting on the banks, wandering the course and spending the wee hours of the night at the Mulsane Straight.

    Thanks in advance for information.

    Carol,

We were in T20 last year (formerly Total) and will be in T19 this year (formerly Michelin) The are very good seats for watching all the action although the view of the big screen is a little distant.

If for any reason you struggle to get tickets from the ACO I probably will have two spare for T19. They were bought from an agency and include general entry but I paid a hefty mark up - cost was £142.00 sterling which is about 196 euros

    Malcolm,

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely keep your generous offer in mind. I'll know in a couple weeks time what happens. Do you suggest a another stand for viewing with a closer big screen? Current plans are to visit various locations on the course in addition to having a seat. Have you taken the shuttle to the Mulsane Straight? How about the pitwalk on Friday? Do you stay at the track then entire time? What's your favorite location to be at false dawn? Since darkness in France is definitely shorter, I don't want to miss night driving. This is the first time for us to go and I know it definitely won't be the last. F1 racing has gotten a tad boring of late so we are checking out other venues (although we haven't totally giving up F1 we're going to Imola and Monaco and perhaps a couple others).

Thanks again - your offer and valuable information is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Carol

I don't recall the name or ID of the stands in which we were located. One one across from the pits at the S/F line, and the other was above the pits, just before the S/F line. All I can recommend is a covered stand with a view of the pits, and appreciating the cover when it rained.

You should spend much of your time walking the circuit. Especially tasting some of the food specialities.

    Carol,

19 & 20 are definately two of the best grandstands available. The Very best is the ACO stand which is the next one up the straight from T19. The stand immediately beyond that must be good too - but tickets for this are hard to get. There are usually two big screens on the pit straight - one at the top end of the pits near the pit exit, and one opposite the pits just down from T20. You can see an obscure view of this one from T20 and a distant view of the one at the pit exit. T19 should offer a better view of the pit exit one but worse for the other one.

If they havent spoilt it this year with the changes one of the very best viewing spots is a small path behind the trees on the inside of the track between The Esses and Tetre Rouge. It is not easy to find but if you do it is well worth it and it is probably the closest you get to the cars on the whole track.

You cant actually legally get to the mulsanne straight (other than at the restaurant). The shuttle goes to a viewing area on the exit of mulsanne corner and runs for the first 150 yards or so of the run towards Indianapolis. It also stops at Arnage / Indianapolis and here is one of the best places to watch night racing and/or sunrise. The roads get very busy on Saturday evening so the shuttle can spend some time in traffic. Do the trip as late as you can or in the early hours and it will be a little quieter. We camp at Maison Blanche which is within the circuit boundary, so we are at the track for about 4 days.

Friday pitwalk is good with plenty of close up views of the cars, and the Friday evening parade in the town centre is also worth a visit.

Friday night in the campsites is party night and it is quite an atmosphere. If you are prepared to rough it - bring a tent and you will have a real crack.

    Hope this help,

    Mal

BTW - The Dino will be in the campsite at LeMans all being well - its been there the last 2 years.

    Hello

read this for more infos :
    http://www.lemans.org/24heuresdumans/live/pages/billetterie_gb.html

The "Pit Walk" ticket and the friday Pit walk are 2 different things.
The friday the pit is open to the public. You have also the same day in the center town the drivers parade.
The grand stand is definatly for me me the best stand. You have to know that with a general entrance and a stand ticket you have access to the paddock, just behind the grandstand. There you can saw and speak with all drivers.

I assume you mean the stand over the pits. This is a good stand and you are right that it gives good access to the rear paddock. However you dont get to see the pit activity and you dont get to see the cars coming up to and through the Ford Chicane. We used the pit stand for years and then last year switch to the other side. Most of our group found it better being able to see the pit stops and more of the racetrack. If you do choose this stand try and get seat as near to the south end (pit entry) as you can as it gives a much better view of the big screen

There are a lot of useful tips here and a very knowledgeable forum: http://www.club-arnage.com/

Youd be better off with a hotel near Montparnesse station, or better still in LeMans. To get back to CDG you have to get back to leMans station get the TGV to Montparnesse, the get the RER across Paris and to CDG which is some distance north of Paris. It will probably take as long to get from Montparnesse to CDG as it does from LeMans to Paris.

    agree with mal !
On friday you probably take the TGV CDG->(via Massy) to LM, or did you take RER B to go to Paris/ Montparnasse?

May for your next comming to LM, the best way for me it's found an Hotel at Massy for a best price !
At Massy near (Orly airport) you can take the TGV for LM (55 min) and take the RER B direct to CDG (1 hour)

Thanks for the advice guys - I got seats in T19 yesterday morning from a location in the UK. Sent an email to ACO this morning and requested to be on ticket list for '07 in T19 - will see what response I get. Booking a year in advance seems to be the name of the game.

Now all we need to do is secure our rail pass.

This is one event that will be replacing at least one F1 race.

Where do most people purchase their tickets? I've been looking everywhere online, and can't find a good source.
Also, how much racing action can one see from the stands? I was thinking about just getting the "general enclosure" ticket, and wandering around the track. Is there a preferred viewing location?

We got the seats basically to watch the start/finish (T19 is just about right there, plus it's covered - see Mal's earlier post on this thread) and a place to sit during the night or whenever since we are staying at the circuit from Saturday am until race completion Sunday. We plan to "wander" the track and view from specific locations. ACO is sold out of T15 - T21, I got T19 from www.justtickets.co.uk

Tickets go on sale on line 13 February on the ACO site: www.lemans.org
