Hi All, My lead hammer has been used and so is almost smashed... Where can similar lead hammers be bought or do you guys melt the lead and pour it in some cast ??? If so what are the dimensions of the cast.... I know I can use an empty can as a cast, but do not know the correct dimensions... Thanks a lot Cheers Charles
I set up a small foundry to make mine. And I've had good luck with a Chicken and Stars Campbell Soup can for a mold. (DON'T USE A CREAM OF MUSHROOM CAN THEY DON'T WORK TRUST ME.) Seriously though, you can order them here: http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/tools.htm Much easier than creating your own but not as fun. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ha, Here's an actual photo of Newman's hammer. I won't ask what he actually gets off with this thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bah! Im not a little ***** like you. Nice work Murph, I was waiting for something like me in a skirt, you let me down.
You can make one in about an hour and for $5.......the dimensions are not that big a deal (unless your looking to concourse it), Just re-melt the old head and devise a mold............use your imagination for the mold and save $199 USD + shipping............
Take a search on ebay for lead hammers. I bought a set of 5 lead hammers for about $50. Paint them if you want original look. I stored my original hammer and use the cheap ones. ron
