Do you know if this applies to the Astras as well? Not a huge fan of the "ramp appeal" of the Westwind. :)

NO LEAR is certified (i.e legal) for single pilot operations. Lear attempted single pilot cert for the 23 and it got the big thumbs down. End of story.

Look for a single pilot airplane...who in their right mind wants some other goob sitting next to you while you fly YOUR jet? The only purpose for a second crew member on any airplane is as a potential food source if you crash land in the middle of nowhere!

Consider an L-39...added benefit: you can pose as a fighter pilot...

There is an old, probably apochryphal story about Connie Kalitta...

Connie showed up one evening in a 25 to pick up a load of freight, by himself... the FAA was tipped off, and an inspector was waiting when Connie opened the door.

Connie looked at the inspector standing there with his clipboard, and said, "Son, you might as well write up two of those things, 'cause I ain't takin' the bus home!"

Remember walking underneath the wing of one of Kalitta's freighter 707 or DC-8 and hoping nothing would fall or otherwise attack me. the only time those pigs got washed is it there was a rain storm on approach.
