    Following on from Scott's great entertainment last night which was enlightening, I thought we could use a thread where we post a small portion of a Ferrari and see who REALLY knows their stuff.

    As a kick-off I thought I'd post an easy one :

    yeah yeah we know you've seen the Stradale and you got the 355 right but is it a GTS, spider or GTB ?

    surely even you have some photos which are difficult to tell what the model is ?

    why, wouldn't YOU know what the OHOS are ???

    you really love the old cars because you post heaps of them on the FCAVIC site, plus you use to own a few of them.

    That one of the 225 last night was a gem as was the 250SWB

    hey that reminds me, Scott Flynn got his ornaments from Murray, have you got yours yet, and if so post a photo, unless it gets Murray into trouble.

    OK, apart from the chrome surround in the egg-crate grill , the power bulge on the short node and the wheel differences I can't see huge differences, so no chance of picking which one is the torque tube version. :(

    help me out here PP , oh forget it, your eye for detail is as good as mine.

    This should be a relatively easy one for anyone with some knowledge of 1960's Ferraris and Italian coachbuilders of the era.

    What is the car? Who is the coachbuilder and why is it obvious?
    What are the TWO design signatures from that coachbuilder that are obvious in this car?

    Quoting Keith Bluemel: "In late 1965 the 275 GTB had a facelift. The nose profile was altered, the deep, almost rectangular radiator grille becoming a much shallower elliptical shape with a longer profile. Meanwhile the 1/4 bumpers were raised slightly to run into the sides of the opening instead of being in line with the lower edge. This led to the unofficial name 'long nose' for the new model, to differentiate it from the original design which became known as the 'short nose'. Concurrent with the 'nose job', the wide flat central raised portion of the hood- with it's exhaust air outlet on the trailing edge- was altered to become completely flat."

    Zagato of some kind due to the "Z" designed into the C pillar and the double bubble they were famous for, probably based on a 250 if it's from the 60s

    250GT Zagato; note the 'Z' C pillar, and double bubble roof, also seen in other Zagato designed cars such as an Alfa (not sure of the model nomenclature), and one of 19 Maseratis built by Zagato.

    did you get this out of a book ? My attempt is from Scott's clues but I'm sure this is older than the 60s, more like a mid 50s design

    S/N 0515GT from 1956. The Zagato trademark styling is very evident in this car. You see the double bubble roof in other marques with Zagato coachwork too, so I figured it was an easy one.
